Course Curriculum Overview

4

As a B.Tech CSE student at Lovely Professional University (LPU), I would say the course syllabus is a hit-miss mix in terms of relevance and breadth. LPU offers a wide range of disciplines such as Full Stack Development, Cyber Security, Data Science, etc.

Placement Experience

3

LPU has a committed placement cell that actively works to bridge the space between students and the enterprise. The placement method typically starts inside the 7th semester for B.Tech CSE students. LPU boasts a wide range of recruiters visiting the campus every yr. In the latest placement seasons, over 1600 companies have participated, inclusive of large names like Tech Giants: Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro

Fees and Financial Aid

Coverage arrangements at LPU vary depending on the chosen program and specialization. The estimated tuition fee for the B.Tech CSE program for the academic year 2023-2024 ranged from 1.6-1.8 lakh per semester. These funds typically cover tuition, exams and some basic expenses.

Campus Life

4

My overall experience with campus life at LPU has been quite positive. While there's always room for improvement, the university does offer a vibrant and diverse environment for students to learn, grow, and have fun. The campus infrastructure is generally good, although some older facilities could use an upgrade. The library resources are ample, and the extracurricular activities are diverse and engaging. Most importantly, the vibrant student community makes life at LPU a truly enriching experience.

Hostel Facilities

4

Overall, both the hostel and rented accommodation options near LPU have their pros and cons. The choice ultimately depends on your budget, preference for privacy, and desired level of comfort.I opted for the hostel facility at LPU during my initial years. The university offers two types of accommodation: Standard Rooms: Facilities: These rooms typically accommodate 3-4 students and come with basic amenities like a bed, study table, chair, almirah, and a common washroom. Review: While the standard rooms are affordable, they can get quite cramped, especially with multiple occupants. The common washrooms might not always be well-maintained. Apartments: Facilities: Apartments are available in 1-4 seater configurations and offer more privacy and amenities. They come with attached washrooms, air conditioning, geysers, and sometimes even a small kitchenette. Review: Apartments are definitely more comfortable and spacious compared to standard rooms.

Admission

The basic eligibility for the B.Tech CSE application at LPU is at the very least 60% mixture marks in 10 2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English as obligatory topics. Additionally, you need to qualify for LPUNEST (LPU National Entrance and Scholarship Test) or meet the cut-off criteria of different countrywide-level tests like JEE Main. Application Process: 1. Online Application: The software form is available at the LPU website. You want to create an account, fill in private and educational info, upload documents, and pay the software charge (round 1000). 2. Entrance Exam (LPUNEST): LPUNEST is performed in multiple stages at some stage in the yr, both on line and offline. The exam normally assesses your flair in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. Three. Counselling and Admission: Based in your LPUNEST rating and eligibility, you will be referred to as for counseling where you can choose your selected specialization

Faculty

3.5

Faculty are of very less age , most of the faculty are of nearly 25-30 age . there have not much experience of teaching . there is no teacher for a particuler subject , Sometimes a teacher teach subject one , but in next sem he teach another subject of no relation to previous one . Because of this they has no expertise in a partifuler field . Interaction between teacher and students is quite good , teacher involves students during teaching and also ask about doubts of students , If anyone has any problem , there is a mentor assigned to students , students can aaproach him anytime for any type of problem .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
