- Infrastructure is well maintained and beautiful in comparison to other DU colleges
- JMC has some of the best knowledgeable and eloquent hands down! One thing that you'll surely leave the college with is better English.
- Each and every staff here genuinely cares about your mental health. They have also hired a counsellor for the same.
Dislikes
- Extremely strict about attending classes regularly
- Feels less like college more like school in terms of vibes as well
Course Curriculum Overview
So there are two semesters each year. Before each semester there are internals which include CA and IA. Its actually pretty rigorous. There are no set dates as to when they would take place therefore it feels like you are stuck on just taking exams and submitting projects the entire sem. Curriculum is fine. With the NEP, no. of subjects are increased to 7 for each course as AEC, VAC, SEC are added now, making it a lil hectic tbh.
Internships Opportunities
We have a dedicated placement cell, which keep updating students about different different internships throughout your course. Its actually quiete useful. I myself have gotten 2 oppurtunities through placemnt cell itself.
Fees and Financial Aid
JMC ans St Stephans have the most expensive fees in DU comparitively. As a BA student one has to pay around 22k per year in JMC. As fas as ik other du collges such as Dyal singh, kamla nehru, ramjas etc have fees ranging from 11k to 18k.
Campus Life
Campus life is a lil boring. Although events keep happening. Since its a girls college, a lot of the times these events are so quiete and bland. A lot of the times when i enter the college i feel extreme silence as if no one is inside. Plus since jmc is located in the diplomatic area, there are no nearby places you can hangout unlike in many other colleges. For every lit thing, you gotta go to satyaniketan. Societies are a huge part of jmc. They are taken cery seriously. We have societies like dance, music, green, lgbtq, north eastern, economics, management etc.
Admission
Admnissions im central universities happen through CUET now. To get admission in JMC in the first cut off, percentile should be higher than 94% ig. I got 96% to get into JMC in the first round itself.
Faculty
Faculty is amazing. JMC has lit some of the best, knowledgeable and eloquent teachers. Extreamely well spoken. They are actively trying to involve students as much as it is possible, making learning fun and interactive. Lectures seem more like discussions. Also, teachers are quite accomadating and approachable from what i have experienced.
