Life in Jamia Millia Islamia

The curriculum here is not more advanced but it is sufficient to make an industry read engineer with sufficient knowledge. The labs do not have working equipment or advanced equipment but the faculty makes sure it doesn't affect student's learning.

In my batch of 2024, around 50% students got campus placement with highest package being 18 lpa and average package being 6 lpa. The students are eligible for placement from 7th semester and most of the companies visit campus in 7th semester. Some of the companies which offered jobs were - TCS, Accenture, LnT, Siemens, Algosec, HSBC, etc.

Total cost of doing BTech from Jamia is around 56 thousand which is way cheaper than other colleges. The return to investment ratio is great. There is also some scholarship provided to economically weaker students and toppers.

Very few clubs and societies here are genuinely active and do the work. Other societies only become active during fest period and they collectively organize some decent fests. The campus life is decent with food interactions and many different things to do such as different competition which are continuously organized and also sports competition.

The Hostel provided is good. Students are provided triple sharing room with wardrobe bed table and chair. The hostel fees for a year including mess is only 36000 rupees. The food in the mess is decent. They provide non veg food daily in dinner.

The admission in the BTech course is undertaken according to the JEE Mains rank. We have to register for Jamia separately and they release list of selected student in respective branches. They also release spot list. The only problem with this process is that it is completely offline.

The faculty of Jamia Millia Islamia is highly educated from top institutes and universities of India such as IITs and NITs. Every department has more than sufficient number of professors with each professor having mastery in a particular subject. The professors is very welcoming and very supportive and you can ask any query with them anytime.
