Likes

Positives - good faculties, good infrastructure, hostel is very secured , crowd is decent and well mannered.
Hostel food in mit is better than most of the hostels in bangalore
Time table for college is more convenient and has more freedom compared to other bangalore college

Dislikes

Hostel curfew is only till 9:30 , find of 500 rs will be imposed if arrived late after 9:30
No PG/ APARTMENTS. Within 3 km radius, bsf air force is right opposite to hostel so no highrise buildings.
No big complexes or shops nearby , small shops and majority of it being open land, which is pretty boring especially being 20kms away from the city and curfew being 9:30 , we miss a lot of fun.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose cybersecurity , as it was less common compared to AI and core . The difficulty level of the course out of 10 would be 7. It is moderate. And for real world application we have lab courses 4 in a week.

There are so many companies offering internship , the companies thr take students for placements are the same that offers internship as well , with stipend ranging from 5k a month to 20k , some can be even more based on their requirements and the students capabilities. Main high paying internships are: Software related fields

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th semester (4th year ). Companies like Bosch, Microsoft, tcs ,ibm etc visit for placements Students eligible for placements should have minimum 6 GPA above based on company requirements .. for a good company u need an average of 7.5 cgpa. My plans after getting degree is to work for some time and do MBA along with it .

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is very costly in Manipal with 3.5 lakhs in first year, and 5 lakhs for 3 years .. Thr complete cost of tution fee and hostel including would be roughly around 26 lakhs (4years). Scholarship are provided for first 100 toppers .. for them the fees is free .Trolly only have to pay for hostel . There's Scholarship for student who's parents are earning less than 8lpa . The total fees for them would be around 12 lpa -15 lpa (4 years). Average lpa is 12 in Manipal. Highest around 50ish every year

Campus Life

We have two main fests in Manipal blr falak and neck solstice, and main campus has so many other fests, cultural life is much better and student oriented in main campus . There's biggest college library in south coming up in blr campus so availability won't be a problem. There are so many clubs and club events in MIT, which make clg life better and more engaging

Hostel Facilities

Basic facilities like upboard and drawer, bed and mattress is given . Meal quality in mess is medium , not good not bad either . Hostel affordability is not a problem. In Manipal, if it's last minute application it might be hard to get a hostel

Hostel Fee: INR 150000 per year

Admission

Eligibility of the course - rank between 1-15k will get u a seat in Manipal through MET exam . And for all the Manipal college - Manipal main campus, Manipal bangalore campus and Manipal jaipur campus . Application form is available on Manipal website and the fee for the exam is around 2000rs . Application dates would usually open around February and exam would take place after board exam There's no reservation benefits. The difficulty of exam , again it's moderate, easier compared to jee advanced .. question would be mostly relates to jee main.

Faculty

All the faculties have done MTECH and have received doctorate in NIT'S , some faculties have worked in companies as well before completely being in teaching career. Teacher: student ratio is 1:60 And classes are maintained very well, and teaching quality is good as well. U can interact with teachers anytime whenever they are free, they are very helping, infact the unexpected stricter teachers are more helping and open towards the students if they have doubts .

LIFE AT NITK

Placement Experience:

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since my kcet rank was low I want a good clg so I choose this college I choose electrical and electronics. also I'm very interested in electrical department I wanted eee branch so I choose this Curriculum actually helps you to learn and solve real world problems since it's a core branch you have to concentrate on our syllabus. We get to learn lot of things also we have 4 labs there you can learn practically . In our clg they additionally we have lab Called skill lab there you can learn lot of things additionally . I feel they should add some programming language as subject in eee additionally even though we learn that in 1st year there should be continuous so . Even our colleges provide boot camps for 10 days every sem where experienced trainer will come and teach you but I feel that's not enough they have include programming languages as our part of curriculum. In internals they provide 1hour time for for 30 marks and sem exams 3hr for 100 marks so it's manageable .

Colleges like srm vit bits which I have applied are some of the choices I choose and I also got confirmed admission from them but I rather choose MIT because one of the colleges tuition fee is too high compare to MIT and one of the colleges is in region where my parents dislike I am not only that I got rejected to an to a college name Woxsen in the interview round due to lack of technical skills I'm talking about my admission process of my college MIT Bangalore is that we need minimum 65 percentage in 12th boards and you need to apply for the college entrance exam name MET Manipal examination test which is the cost of ?5000 after writing the exam your rank is decided by considering 50% of your 12th boards percentage and 50% of your marks in the entrance exam and after you get a rank cut-off for a course stream is decided and is published then you are asked to through the stream by seeing the cut-off of the stream with respect to our rank after we select a stream you get a admission letter and asked to pay the tuition fee...Read More

Manipal Bangalore Review

I had got into SRM and VIT Bhopal . SRM i did not consider as it was an online admission exam , which many students had used unfair means to get their rank , this caused me to pick manipal as i believed it would have a better crowd . VIT bhopal does not have as big as a name as manipal moreover it was in my hometown hence i chose this collge . I had a good enough rank to get ECE in main campus of MANIPAL but i chose bangalore as i was getting computer science here and i am passionate about this subject . I didnt get into IIT's or NIT's or BIT's as i feel i did not put enough effort in my studies and these exams require rigourous studies . Manipal's entrance exam or MET , is an on-site online exam , mcq based (+4,-1). The eligibility criterea when i had joined was a 50% in Physics math and an optional subject in Class 12 examination . I had got a rank of 11k and the cut off for my course was 12k .
