- As we are the fourth batch in the college of engineering physics department. I m disappointed with the placements.
- Providing less freedom to students is the second main disappointing factor I noticed.
- And the worst culture I know about my college is the ragging done my senior. Seniors ask juniors introduction in English and pure Hindi in a format which they have provided to junior in the initial days
Course Curriculum Overview
Actually there is nothing so science that I choose this course. Only one thing which made me to pursue this course is love towards physics. In my course curriculum, theoretical learning is more than the practical learning which I thought is a area of improvement. The ratio of theoretical learning with practical learning must be 1:2. Our college conducts 2 exams per year , Mid semester and the other one is end semester. Mid semester covers 30% syllabus while end semester covers 100% syllabus of that semester. Along this practical exams are done after every semester.
Placement Experience
In the 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Google, Infosys , Microsoft, Wipro, are the main recruiters of our college almost 600+ offer are made every year. The highest package on campus is 52 lakhs and 1.2 Cr is the off campus. 80% student gets placed every year from my college. I actually want to pursue Mtech in automotive engineering after this degree which may opens some more doors to my success.
Fees and Financial Aid
In our college their is no tuition fee increase policy, we although have constant fee for every semester except the first one. The 1st semester charges higher than rest all. The complete cost to me for my education per semester is 85000. But in the 1st semester it is 110000. Scholarship provided in our college are only for the SC/ST caste ( full remission on tuition fees not hostel fees ) and the student whose family income is less than 1 lakh / year.
Campus Life
Campus life at NIT Hamirpur typically involves a vibrant social scene with various clubs and activities catering to different interests. Every week their is some cultural program in my college which maintain the gap between studies and enjoyment. The college usually provides infrastructure like sports facilities, libraries, and student centers to support extracurricular activities and social interactions. However, specific experiences may vary based on individual preferences and campus dynamics.
Hostel Facilities
The name of my hostel is Kalash hostel the oldest hostel of the nit Hamirpur. In this two types of rooms are provided to students 3 in one in major and 4 in one room in minor. Their are some special rooms and facilities for the PWD candidate also. Hostel provide us 3 times meal a day and 1 snacks time in evening also. The quality of the food is 9/10. Meals are hygienic as well as tasty.
Admission
Eligibility of my course is the student must cleared the JEE MAINS Exams and must be a 12th passed orr 1st or 2nd dropper. JEE MAINS is conducted every year by NTA two times. Student have to score good to enter the college. For just entering, a general category candidates must score 96.5%iler , a OBC candidates must be 95.3%iler orr above.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio in my department is actually too low as my department in the college is a new one. Although, faculties are very passionate to their work and provide 24/7 support to their students in academics and also in building the career. Dr. Vimal sharma , HOD of physics and photonics science department are the charming personality in our department.
