Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The courses that are taught at this college vary from branch to branch while keeping a few subjects in common. The main difference in each department will be the department specific subjects being taught for their students. The AI department just started out to bring in new subjects specific to artificial intelligence which has brought a new craze in this generation. Each department helps the students prepare for their area of expertise in this world after graduation while also letting them gain experiences in other regions as a back up.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee for the college remains the same throughout all 4 years, decided upon year of admission and can be checked on whatever exam you are trying to get the seat through. Since 2022 the tuition fee seems to have been increased from the next batch by about 2% and is the same bike for all examinations. For the first year the students have to pay an extra fee of around 10000 for lab facilities and other included benefits which end up helping the students throughout that period of time. Students who have a high percentage in 12th or 10th and students with high cgpa can get scholarships through the Karnataka government which will be explained at the college by faculty.

Campus Life

3.5

CMRIT has an annual inter college fest that takes place every even semester named CULTURA which is a huge blast for students who attend it, or even for their parents. This fest allows us to interact with other colleges and take place in events to win prize money or just have fun. The college has a library where all department text books are available and the library is open throughout the week and year only being closed at night and on public holidays. The management seems to be trying to bring up smarter methods of teaching by setting up smart boards in place of normal blackboards.

Admission

The admission process for all colleges remains relatively the same unless the college is completely autonomous. Being a vtu affiliated college, CMRIT take admissions through KCET, COMEDK and management. The ranks vary between each of the exams and they also vary from branch to branch. Computer science and Information science and engineering have the highest cut offs while every other branch follows them. They also have the highest intake in number of students while the college is trying to increase the seats for other branches. Reservations are available for students with parents in army or having come from a backward region or caste.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty use multiple methods to interact with and educate the students including chalk & board and Power Point Presentations. Interchanging between these two and other methods of teaching keeps the students entertained without losing interest in the concepts being taught at college. All the faculty at the college are well qualified holding at least one PhD while working on another. We have multiple associate faculty who learn from the senior faculty while teaching the students. The faculty to student ratio is around 1 faculty for every 30 students which is not a lot of load for the teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college (NHCE) is affiliated to VTU but it's autonomous college. I like mechanical engineering and my father is also a mechanical engineer which inspired me to mechanical engineering. It is a bit outdated, expect more applications of the concepts. As I said we have exams every month, the frequency is good and the difficulty of exams I mid to easy range.

Placement Experience:

Many top MNC's come to the college. Recently the placement opportunities has increased when compared to our batchs.Companies like TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, SLK, Mphasis etc had given us the opportunity. The average package offer was 3.5lpa or 4lpa. The highest package known to me was 10lpa for a CS student not for us. The placements begins either at the end of 6th sem or in the beginning of 7th sem. Almost 60-70% of us were placed by the end of graduation but due to recession the onboarding was very late. Waited for more than a year to get onboarded.
