- The ambience of the college is great, the teachers , general faculty all are very helpful. The academic aspect can be summarised as good
- The campus life on NSEC is actually great. You are allowed to come and leave the campus whenever you want
- The infrastructure is good and is continiously improving however the primary aspect is that all the major rooms and labs are under ac always
Dislikes
- The office staff behaviuor could improve, there are mostly helpful but sometimes they are picky and not up for the task.
- The infrastructure could improve more. Although there is a great campus life the size of the campus is small.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum just like most engineering colleges in India is outdated with what the modern industry wants. However, plenty of free time is given to the students to study independently at home or learn skills. Generally, the teachers are up on guiding the students, one has to know whom to ask and when. The focus on the practical and hands-on practise is there in the college but due to the outdated curriculum of the Indian education system somewhere or the other it lacks the edge needed to stand in the market.
Placement Experience
The placements of the college are average on campus although the scenario has been improving in the past year. A lot of students did get many off-campus placements and last year a lot of students got placements of around 20 lpa. However, the average placement of the college is around 3.5 lpa to 4 lpa. The highest package can go from around 20 to 30 lpa (including in campus and off-campus placements). Mostly 60% of students are placed n in-campus placements. The placements happen in the final year of the college. Some companies that visit are tcs , wipro, cognizant , Accenture, tech mahindra etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is generous with the amount of value and development of the infrastructure that is going on in the college. Our fee was 5.5 lakhs for the entire course. The fees were increased for the next year's freshers to around 6 lakhs for the whole of the curriculum, but there has been a lot of development in the college in the one year. For example, most of the classes in the College are now AC. All the old equipment has been changed with new ones. Some parts of the college have been completely remodeled into a more modern look with the addition of sofas, chairs and tables, a new online book renewal system for the books borrowed from the library and also improvements in the general infrastructure such as building a gym near the college field, a canteen, etc. TWC is available in the college and the SVCM scholarship procedure is available other than that no college scholarship is there. I have yet to go into any internship or jobs as I am just in my second year.
Campus Life
The campus life at NSEC is no doubt great. Although the infrastructure is small everyone gets habituated to it very fast because of how chill the environment is. You will be surprised from the point you enter the college that there is no ragging at all absolutely, everyone from seniors to the final years and even the teachers all mind their own business and even if you have questions they all answer them politely and kindly you won't have to be afraid of anyone (mostly). The space i front of the central library is great for chit chat with your buddies. There is plenty of student clubs in the college from the tech club Phoenix to the business club E Cell. You will always be occupied by the number of events going on in the college sometimes even overwhelmed. There is the yearly feast organized by the eco-cultural club of the college which is the biggest, other than that there are are departmental feasts and freshers.
Admission
One can get admission into the college by the WEBJEE examination primarily, alternatively, there are also some seats allotted for JEE participants, some are kept for lateral entry in the second year and others can get direct admission into the college by contacting the office. The direct admission procedure starts even before the WEBJEE admission starts. The process for admission is generally that you have to sit for the college placements after the WEBJEE examination when the WEBJEE portal opens. Once the seat allocation procedure for the first round is over, you will go to the college for verification of your identity. Then you can either decide to withdraw from the allotment process of WEBJEE for the next round by signing a form that will be provided to you and getting an admission on that day after the verification or sit for the next round after your verification is over.
Faculty
The faculty members are generally very helpful and considerate with the students in giving notes, teaching on time, and also helping with additional doubts. A lot of the teachers have PHD and teach in NSEC and most of them know their subjects well there are some exceptions though like in every college. There is a good faculty-to-student ratio since each class has no more than around 60 students and a bigger batch like ours is divided into three sections. Generally in the lab classes, more than one teacher is available (somewhere between 2-4) for a batch of 60 students. The approach to teaching is descent for most of the teachers, usually, everyone is up to clear doubts of students and are very constructive about their feedback. Different branches have different attitudes to teachers though, for example in my branch IT the teachers are amazing and very helpful some other branches such as EE and CSE are more strict and rigid with their system which often causes the students to miss out
