Likes

Exposure to media houses and writers, I got the opportunity to learn from renowned people of same field through sessions and seminars.
Accessibility and easy commute from my home was quite easy. The location of the campus is also very ideal and feasible.
Helpful teachers and good crowd. The facility was very helpful throughout the course, and were really good mentors.

Dislikes

Lack of practical knowledge, lack of labs, lack of exposure to media tools and studios.
The evening shift teachers were mostly on a break or leave.
No placements were provided. The college did not helped with any interships as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is quite relevant even today. All the sessions and sections in the three-year duration of my course were very insightful and are helping me to date. There was also a significant number of practice papers provided to us, which enhanced the study process in such a field.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was initially - 90,000 later it was 1 Lakh per year. The fee totally justifies the degree and the training they are offering. However, some scholarships or financial assitance can be of great help for students who are living alone or away from home.

Campus Life

As the course entails, there were plenty of opportunities for exploring social and cultural aspects of the various aspects of the field I enrolled for. There were many events that were organized, and many times various famous Drama actors and artists visited our campus for sessions and seminars.

Admission

The admission process involved an entrance exam that checked aptitude and basic knowledge about the media and writing field. I passed my entrance and got the college I wanted in the first cut-off list.

Faculty

The teachers were good and professional, however, as I was enrolled in the evening batch was often unavailable for lectures. The seriousness for practical assignments and study was not available at the institute.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from 4th year to sit in placements. Famous companies like NDTV, News 24 , India today, ABVP,etc comes for placement. Highest package was 1200000 per annum and 300000 per annum is average package. Profiles offered are reporter,research executives, content creator, anchor, field reporter,etc I will go for anchoring after completing the degree.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

The Glimpse of DSJ

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.

Placement of our college is pretty good almost 80% students get good placement but at the same time its very important to know that you will get college placement at end of you masters as DSJ provides Five year integrated programme in journalism. If you exit your college after bachelor you might get placement from outside campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement is fine in college. It is not a bulk campus placement like in most of the engineering colleges but it is pretty decent. The one who is smart and confident enough gets it. Companies provide a decent pakage to the ones who get placed.

I choose this college mainly because it is close to my home, which makes travelling much easier.Accordingly to my rank, this was the college I was alloted during the admission process. I also visited few top colleges to explore other options, but since I didn't qualify for their rank based seat, they were asking around 4 lakhs for addmissionwithout rank. As I am a bca student, i can guide you for bca. You have to give cet exam conducted by ip university which have syallabus or little maths, computers and gk.
