What Students Say

Likes

Infrastructure is great with good landscaping, pedestrian and street lights are also provided
Good ventilation is provided throught courtyards and sufficient number of toilet are provided at proper intervals

Dislikes

There are no sufficient classrooms. Students need to sit in courtyard or other department classroom for lectures
Library is not open after 5pm. Student cannot sit in library after the college hours

Course Curriculum Overview

The college has good extra curricular activities which allows student to engage more with each other. The college should teach more architecture softwares as they are noti nvovled in the curriculum. The college conducts exams according to the university rules and regulations.Should improve in providing faculties like extra working hours in college and should redevelop infrastructure and increase more number of classrooms.

Internships Opportunities

Renowned architectural firms have a tie up with the college which interview the student in their 5th yr for th internship opportunity. There are no job opportunities provided by the college. The faculties can suggest for the firms to apply for job but there are no placements involved officially

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is 92000 every year. Including tuition and extra curricular charges the total fees is 93000. Mahadbt scholarship is the only scholarship available in the college. The campus placement is only for internship during the start of 5th year in architecture other than that there are no campus placement.

Campus Life

The main event organised in college includes buildtech, cultural fest, farewell for 5th yrs,onam celebration,Ganesh chaturthi celebration, Holi celebration,etc. the classroom have projectors l. The college has a good sports team and they have achieved many medals and trophies in various competitions intercollege and national levels as well. The college also has various clubs which includes dance, drama, music, movie, event organizatiin,etc. There's also a student community which has selected students from the toppers of that particular academic year which andles all the functions and event organised in college.

Admission

Eligibility of course consists of 12th sci 50% along with nata or jee mains 2 . The application form is available on the official website of dypcoa akurdi.The exams are moderate level and the questions are within the syllabus.

Faculty

Faculties use effective methods to communicate with students. Some faculties do not teach according to the syllabus but rest of faculties have good enough knowledge which they share among students other than academics.

Perfect infrastructure but more experience faculty needed

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason i choose architecture because it fascinates me how a place can be developed into holistic place interests me . The curriculum has some good inputs but it doesn't make you industry ready extra efforts should be taken to learn advance softwares extra classes newer research etc discussion on advance technology becomes important in modern age how architecture is changing is not discussed

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of exam is twice a semester and good enough. Guest lectures are good and helpful for the future preparation.There must be a change in teaching styles of the faculty and more site based experiments through the course for better understanding than only in class studies , the beauty of historical buldings made me wonder about this course

Placement Experience:

For architecure departments, usually there are no placements, but since this Institute is autonomous, they have startes conducting placements drive. Last year 10/12 students were placed in good firms all over banglore, pune, kolhapur. I plan on applying to different firms all over Maharashtra and would also hope to get placement via college since the packages that are offered are good. Placement percentage is anywhere between 12-15%. The highest package offered was around 5,40,000, average package for a architecture student would be-around 3lakhs.

Placement Experience:

There is no campus placement for architecture students. After completion of the degree, one can apply for jobs or opt for masters. Architects get an average starting salary of 20-25 thousand. The course is pretty expensive including college fees and printing prices. One can also open a private firm and earn enough money. There are very few open students getting placed. My plans after getting a degree are to apply for masters. For a teaching job, one must complete masters.
