Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum makes you industry ready. They have a curriculum which fits the industry standard and also stays up to date with the latest development and trends in the particular sector. Exams are conducted as - ISE 1, ISE 2, MID sem and ese. Ise are on the easier side while mid sem and ese can be anywhere between moderate to difficult.
Placement Experience
For architecure departments, usually there are no placements, but since this Institute is autonomous, they have startes conducting placements drive. Last year 10/12 students were placed in good firms all over banglore, pune, kolhapur. I plan on applying to different firms all over Maharashtra and would also hope to get placement via college since the packages that are offered are good. Placement percentage is anywhere between 12-15%. The highest package offered was around 5,40,000, average package for a architecture student would be-around 3lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fee for b.arch generally ranges in between 96000-100000.(tution fee) and it includes all other miscellaneous charges. This structure is for general category students. For the First and second year I paid around 96000, third year paid around 98000, for the fourth year it was 100000,and for the final year itvwas around 96000. My batchmates belonging to other categories pays half of the amount I pay or sometimes even less around 20/30k per year. There are scholarahips available for SC/ST and OBC students as well.
Campus Life
There are many annual events such as AAKAR(for architecture students),ARPAN (department wide) and many other small evens. But still the college doesn't conduct as many social events. All the necessary books are available in the department library as well as the central Library of the college. The classroom are equipped woth basic facilities such as ac, projector, mic, speaker, etc. Sports competitions are also conducted annually and department wise.
Admission
Admission process was pretty easy, once you clear nata you have to apply and give preference to three colleges. This college was my first Preference and i got it after the cut off list was declared. Other preferences were dy patil akurdi, but i chose kolhapur one because of the serene and calm city. There is a cutoff for the admission eligibility last time it was 137 ( i had 145) which is 50 percent of your nata and 50 percent cbse 12th marks combined. After you get your college, you can either contact college or they will contact you, submit some documents, pay half fees and you are done.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio for architecture department is good. They have 4 faculty members per class (40 /45 students per division). Exams are conducted as- ISE 1 and 2, mid sem and ese followed by viva/orals. The course curriculum is also relevant and special attention is also given towards making students industry ready.
