Knowledgeable lectures and interaction with students..the teachers are very much kind and supportive with each and everyone
Time to time fun and fest which gives opportunities to students to showcase their talents and skills..and our college also conducts competitions

Dislikes

Our college has small campus so it's bit chaotic for students.. because of the small campus becomes over crowded during any fest or students get together
Its a big task for students to find something good to eat because in our college the canteen is very unhygienic and small which leads mess

Course Curriculum Overview

My course was political science honours and the curriculum was very interesting for me.. The curriculum was prepared very nicely which easily applied in real life..the are some improvement which can be done like the boring and not so relatable chapters by removing them..

The fees of our college was very affordable.. my course costed any around 15000/- .. our college also provides scholarship for students as I was also a ncc cadets of my college.. college has been very much supportive and helpful and gives financial support to ncc cadets

Campus Life

Our college participate in many intercollege competition and also wins and our college conducts festivals their own. The welcome function for new student take place every year. The accessibility of Books are not so good for some courses only. Our class was old and bit deconstructed. Our college also conducts annual sports competition. College has a student welfare committee who works for students and run by students

Admission

The process of addmission was very simple and the whole procedure done online. My course eligibility was 70%. Who needs any kind of reservation they can easily availed it. The suggestion which I can give it would be to improve glitches in the addmission procedure cause someone of the students has faced issue

The faculty to students ratio are pretty good.. i had a good experience in my studies.. the teachers are very helpful and they always tries to make lecture interesting and informative.. they also ask each and everyone If anyone has any doubt on any topic or not..

Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Department of Bengali is one of the oldest Bengali department in the state. It offers undergraduate honours and postgraduate courses. Recently, they have started PhD courses as well. The Bengali department is actively engaged in research in hot topics in literature. The curriculam of Presidency university is most diverse among all other University, colleges in the state. It begins with very basic topics at the first year and ends with very specific research level papers at the final year. The syllabus is so advance that bachelors students can compare themselves with the masters level students after completeing the course. I will mention the bachelor course curriculam in summary: Semester I- Prachin Bangla Sahitya O Bangalir Itihas sandhan, Bangla bhasar itihas o bhasatotto, Semester II- Prak chaitanya juger bangla sahityer itihas, Madhyajuger bangla sahityer itihas o kabyapath, Semester III- Shorosh o soptodosh shotabdir samaj: itihas o chaitanyadeb, Ashtadosh shatabdir samaj sangkriti, changa-alanlkar o prof sangsodhan, Semester IV- Adhunik juger udbhab, gadya o probondho sahitya, kabya-kabitae itihas, natoker itihas o rupbhed, Semester V- Bangla Upanyas, Bangla chotogolpo, Rabindranath, Semester VI- Unish o Bish shataker bangla samaj songskriti o sahitya, bhinna bhasar sahityer itihas o tar obhighat, bharatiya alangkar shatra, sahitya o shilpo. Other than these compulsory courses, there are lot of exceptional elective courses that attracted me more towards joining this prestigious university. Since Presidency University select specific students through their difficult entrance tests, the semester exams should not be difficult for the students, but there are some papers in the course which needs to delt with extra care and attention to get extra marks.

St Xavier’s Calcutta . Is it worth it?

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are very brilliant but there's a downside to it'. If you do bcom from Sxc cal either morning or evening batch, you are going to have an amazing and stable financial situation. But in English , don't expect earning a big salary. In campus placements exist for English students as professors. Many (almost all) of our professors are ex students of st Xavier's Calcutta.

SAJC - From The Eye of a Student.

There was only 3 better colleges I couldn't apply to. They were St.Xaviers Kolkata, Goenka and Maulana Azad. Seth Anandram Jaipuria College is among the top 5 colleges and is well known. It is also the best college in North Kolkata, some might not agree to me though. The deciding factors for me were very low fees, decent quality teachers, and the most important, quality of crowd and reputation of the college.
