Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My course is computer science with specialization in artificial intelligence. The course if packed with mandatory AI courses that I need to take. I believe the future is of AI and the course outline really prepares me well for the same. The curriculum prepares me with real world applications as there are many mandatory projects I have built during the courses which are resume worthy. And very much related to things that you face in real job. The courses are really good designed in the sense that you don't need to stress too much about personal projects as the course projects tend to be enough. The teaching method starts mostly from scratch in beginning courses but you're supposed to retain that knowledge to take higher level course in the future. The frequency of exams is really high with a exam always at your door each week. Also the exams are really difficult. My branch as many courses with average Cgpa as 6-5.

Placement Experience

4.5

Ok, so you get eligible to sit in campus placement after your 6th semester for placement and after 4th sem for internships. Though you actually go for internships after your 6th semester summer break. All of the MAANG companies visit college. And overall placement is actually quite good. Though you need to focus your college classes to earn their interview. The highest package each year goes around 50lakhs and average goes around 20lakhs. from my own experience I can say these numbers are legit and around 90%+ people get jobs though the number of low in 2024 in our college(82%) and well as everywhere. My plan after college is getting a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a fee hike each year of around 20k as far as I remember please verify with the latest revised fee structure as it tends to change. The complete cost of my education for 4 years comes around 20lakhs which is a lot. Though there are many scholarships they mostly cater to economically weaker sections or female candidates. Though there is a scheme to wave whole of your college fees but only 4-5 people get it each year. Also there is scholarships for people below 2000 JEE main rank. The campus does provide many employable opportunities as TAships and research interns at labs headed by professors. It provides stipend of around 10k-15K

Campus Life

3

There are 3 annual fest happening in college ESYA - technical fest , ODESSY - cultural fest and a sports fest. They are huge with crowds amount to 10 thousands. The library is very accessible with journals and magazines. You can request a journal of your choice to the library management and they do their best to get it provided it is a scientic journal. The overall campus is small so it does limit sports activities none the less, it has 3 badminton court, 2 tennis court, 1 basketball court, 1 field , 1 swimming pool, 1 gym 2 squash court

Hostel Facilities

2

So hostel provide AC in summer days from 6 PM to 8 AM. You are provided with a study table cupboard and a bed. The food is actually quite decent and overall is eatable. The menu changes every week so there's variety. To get hostel you need to have a house 35Km away from college at least. The hostel fees is high as similar to a rented apartment. Totally nearby locality 1-2km of college is not good to stay in you need to look a bit further away to get good accommodations.

Admission

To enter the course you need to give Jee mains and perform well in it. The closing rank of my department got around 8k in my joining year 2022. The exact counselling is done through JAC which also is responsible for counselling for DTU, NSUT and IGDTUW. There is no reservation of female candidate in our college which leads to very skewed gender ratio at around 1 in 5. There are also other modes of admission which is UCEED and Boards but they give you less choice on the department you can take. All these admission process open yearly for specific period of time

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio is pretty good as classes are divided into sections if the number of student taking a class increases to more than 200-300. The classes are really huge and well equipped to accommodate the whole strength. The faculties are good, you might face difficulty with some professors but overall it's a good experience. Most of them teach really good and have degrees and awards from renounced foreign and Indian institutions. The professors are really approachable with weekly office hours and even ready to give some time after classes.

We have to understand and go for training as per the direction of our enhanced cell guidance. Companies take a lot of things into account apart from scores and this is where it becomes inevitable for us to go for it. Top level companies are the ones that gets along and gives nearly 90% of the students.

Placement offers are not that good, like if you're pursuing other courses than btech so the placement is good but in btech, tech companies don't come that often, so you have to develop your skills during your academics and apply offline for job.

Currently what a job require and what we are being taught in the college, totally different. We have to study separately for preparing job because in our course curriculum, importance skills aren't taught and the frequency of exam throughout the year is too much. We don't get enough time for preparing jobs. We need less frequency of exams throughout the year so that we can prepare for a job.
