Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As I said, CU is well known for its psychology faculty and development, and getting into this university had always been my first priority, and being exposed to its wonderful and well learnt faculty i believe it will surely help me in the future, and also in daily life. Well the department can still look into more interactive sessions during class rather thn presentation and projects

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college is bonded with NRS hospital for placement, and various other institutions. Though my knowledge is still limited and m still learning about this . Seeing from seniors i have noticed that it does have a good placement record.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees demanded by the university is very less and affordable (3k/semester), also providing enough scholarship for students based on their merits, 60k for two years scholarship is provided by the government.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is huge and green which is more important, canteen, playground, stationary shop, bank, park, gym, union, library, hall everything is well maintained within the campus. The social life might be little difficult for boys, which is again a subjective opinion, since the department has a higher female ration.. nearly 1 boy among 20 girls

Admission

To get into CU under the psychology department, being a cu candidate one need to score 7+ cgpa in under graduation, and for a non cu student they have to appear for a entrance exam conducted by the university. There are reservation benifits based on govt. Norms,

Faculty

4.5

University providers wonderful professors and they are extremely competent. Never felt left out, the student professor ratio is 8:1, Since Calcutta University is the first university in India to introduce psychology in education field, it has still maintained the standard. The teachers are very friendly and approachable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If the student is quite serious to go for a PHD after completing his MSc from here, I would say it is a great choice but if one is looking for the option to explore some other field after completing his MSc from here, I wouldn't recommend of getting a degree from here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus structure of KU is totally based on the IIT JAM exam syllabus. That helps students very much in future preparation for Ph.D. Also KU offers special classes for competitive exam preparations including SPSC or UPSC as well as helps to get placements in the private sector. And professors are very highly qualified they can teach this syllabus in depth and with care

Course Curriculum Overview:

The program curriculum encompasses Biological Sciences as well as it could have been. It is very elaborate comprising every branches from Instrumemtation and Methodologies to Cell Biology, Genetics or Molecular Biology for that matter. You are ought to have three theory papers and two practical and Grand VIVA papers each semester with a total of 4 semesters over two years. In the last semester, you need to prepare your dissertation. The papers include all the basic concepts and their applications and demands hard hours. I believe the syllabus can be relaxed a bit and the number of papers per term expanded and compartmentalised so as to reduce the load of individual papers. All the faculties are very supportive and Friendly and appreciate doubts and queries always.
