Likes

The extra curricular activities and the exposure that we get by participating in a lot of things
Diversity. We get to interact with a lot of people from different parts of the country throughout which makes us aware of our country's diversity
The liberty of doing whatever we want to be it organising local bands or performing.

Dislikes

Though there is diversity people act like they are not aware which makes communication a barrier and we feel sidelined
There is a lot of political stuff happening in the college which gets clashed with the classes and kind of disrupts the peace.
The campus is very beautiful always gets polluted by the people. l.

Course Curriculum Overview

Pursuing English honours here has been a dream come true. The professors are really well learned and it is a privilege to be taught by them. The level gets harder but with the right professors teaching the course seems to be fun.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 950 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The students get financial assistance through scholarships some of them being Kanyashree, Aikyashree, Free ship and a lot more. The fees of the college is pretty cheap which serves as an important aspect. The fees per year for my course is 950/- and the hostel fees is decent as well which makes finance a little less of a burden.

Campus Life

Campus life is all about mingling with people who are like you and who vibe with you. Also there are a lot of fests taking place in the month spanning from February to April where the students get to relax and enjoy as the classes are also suspended. The library has been kept updated. A digital library is also there which serves really helpful. There are a lot of clubs for people interested like the drama club, the music club, dance club, photography etc. The students get a chance to know themselves and Excel in things they are good at.

Admission

The admission process starts after filling up the form online with the interested course. The fees for the admission test takes 100 per subject and the reserved class enjoy the benefits of a lesser cut off and seats reserved. The exams happen to be after the board results are declared as the board marks are taken into consideration too. This makes our college a little late than the other colleges and people anxious about their admission seem to get into another college just in case.

Faculty

The faculty is good. The students can get in touch easily with the faculty through text or mail and there is a casual relationship which makes it easier to communicate the problems and queries of the students towards the faculty. Overall, it is nice.

The teachers are very friendly. Supply of clean drinking water is available always. Rooms are large, clean, fitted with lights and fans. There's also mic available for large classrooms. The rooms have their specific numbers.

Remarks:

No negative comments. The college is one of its own of a kind. It is surrounded by a plethora of greenery which helps the college to be brimmed in fresh air. 24×7. There's no problem at all. The transportation and communication is also of top notch.

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score. The cutoff in the internal exam is around 70% for General Category and for CUET, the cutoff varies yearly....Read More
