- 1. At very first, inspite of being a tier - 3 college, this college has a decent campus size which makes you really feel that you are in college and not roaming to a school building.
- 2. The college hosts various cultural fests, which keeps the students engaged and students here can get to learn many new things from these extra curricular activities.
- 3. We get to play approx all the sports in the campus, since we have a basket ball court, volleyball ground, cricket ground and many more. So it gives a copmplete aura to live a campus life at its fullest.
Dislikes
- You have to go through the 75% attendance criteria. It is mandatory else the college will send a report to your parents and then force you to bring your parents to the college.
- You can not roam into the college after 7pm. You have to leave the college.
- Whenever any fest or event being held in the college, students are asked to contribute everytime.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I have opted B.tech CSE, since this is an emerging couse today, and it opens a lot of opportunities in the tech field. The curriculum of this college is offered by MAKAUT university, which is good when it comes to handle real life application. As this course includes everything, from programming to design, and the most in demandable skill toady, AI- ML is also included in our course. Teaching methods can be improved by including new tech gadgets in the class and teachers should also stay updated with new tech trends emerging in the industry. When it comes to examination, the college prepares us very well to qualify these semester examination. Overall there are 4 internal mid sems which includes two practical exam also. And in last of every sem, the semester examination is held.
Placement Experience
When it comes to placement, from 6th sem only, college starts providing the placement opportunites to the students. Based on the company criteria, you can apply for this. Every year, companies like Amazon, Ola, Byjus, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and many more come in the campus to hire the students and provide various job roles to them. Every year the highest placement can get to 14 LPA to 25 LPA. And average placement lies between 4 -5 LPA. Approx 90% students got placed from every batch.
Fees and Financial Aid
When it comes to BCET, the fees is very low and affordable. Every semester, the college gives you 1.5 month time to pay the fees, which is more than enough. if you are unable to pay your fees from your home and you are a residence of West Bengal, you can apply for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship. And if you are from other states, the you can apply for education loan. This college is listed in every scheme that the Indian government has released for the students. Inspite of this, if there is any function in between, then you have to pay the contribution for the functiom. Whether it is college fest, or any club event, or anything.
Campus Life
When I was in the first year and new to the college, everything seems exciting. At first, college hosts an induction ceremony of 3 weeks in which we are taught how to prepare ourself for the future. After this, approx every 2 month, every club of the college host some event or competition. Campus have 1 tech club, 1 NSS club and 1 self development club and various sports have there different clubs. All the sports get the chance to participate in inter college competiton. Coming to the study part, college has a library which holds thousands of books for every subject. Either academic or self growth, you will get a book for everything. College will give you a library card, which will help you to lend book from the library.
Hostel Facilities
For 1st year, Hostel building is separated to prevent ragging in the campus. And from 2nd year, you get your rooms in senior building. Every room is two seater. For girls, one seater is available. You get 1 bed, 1 almirah, a chair and a table. You can opt for hostel in the beginning of every semester. If you want to stay outside, the room are available in the locality
Admission
At first, you have to appear for WBJEE exam or JEE main exam. Based on the marks you have scored, you can check the cutoff and then you can fill the counselling form. Then the college will be alloted to you and after this you will visit the college with all the documents listed on the college website. The admission process in the college is very simple. You just have to feel the admission form and congrats, you are done with your admission.
Faculty
Not all but some faculties are well qualified and well educated. They are capable of teaching and they can clear your concept the way you want it to be cleared. If you do not grasp the concept in the class, the faculties ask you to go to their cabin in free time and get your concept cleared. They are always ready to solve your doubt and and they put their effort at the fullest. The faculty to student ratio is 40:1. Faculties of this college have Mtech or phd degrees in their subject. Some of them are young professors which is a beneift for us students.
