Course Curriculum Overview

4

I can specifically talk about the mechanical engineering department. The course curriculum is a bit old, but in general, I think it is good enough. Enough practical learning opportunities are provided for students to take benefit from. The exams are conducted twice a semester (mid sem and end sem) and their difficulty level is medium to difficult depending upon the course and the professor setting up the paper.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship opportunities are also good enough. Big companies like Amazon, Sprinklr, Bechtel, SLB, Hike, Jindal Steel, paypal, Adobe, Uber, De Shaw, etc, come to campus for campus internship opportunities. The highest stipend is 2 lakhs by sprinklr. The average stipend is 40 K.

Placement Experience

4

After your second year, companies visit the campus for Internships. The highest internship stipemd is approx 2 lakhs. The average is about 40 thousand. And after the thirs year, the companies visit for full time offers and average package is around 15lpa. (It is less for core branches, somewhere around 8 lpa and more for computer related branches) All major tech, non tech or core company visit the campus for placement opportunities - Bain, PwC, EY, Amazon, Google, Sprinklr, Deloitte, Zomato, Apple, Goldman Sachs, Atlassian, etc. The highest package is generally above 1 crore but this is generally an Internatinal package.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees of DTU increases by some percentage every year. The college fees of btech will be around 9.5 lakhs, excluding hostel or mess charges. The hostel / pg charges can cost you from 4lakhs to 6 lakhs (for 4 years) depending upon the type of facility you avail. The hostel charges of dtu are a bit on a higher side. They have recently increased and are a bit high. We have AC as well as non ac option and students can choose either of them. Other than hostels, enough PG and flays option is available just outside DTU. The financial aid is available for students from DTU. They take an interview with your parents and based on that you are granted a scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

Overall, the college life is good. There is a college club for your every interest and you won't ever face difficulty of not being able to find a person sharing common goals or interests. The library is good enough, it is air conditioned and has a lot of options for books from academics to novels. The sports facilities are also good. You have access to nearly every sport. The college also has a gym. The engifest of DTU is one of the best in the country. Other than the culutral festival, fests keep on happening all year round.

Admission

To get admission in DTU in the B.Tech program, you have to give JEE Mains exam and based on your score or All India Rank, you have an option to select your desired B.tech branch. Generally the AIR required for circuital branches (computer engineering or electrical engineering) is more as compared to core branches ike civil or mechanical. After giving the Jee mains exam, you have to opt for JAC delhi counselling which enables you to apply for JAC Delhi colleges - DTU, NSUT, IIITD, IGDTUW, DSEU. The difficulty level is medium to difficult, if you prepare well for your 12th board exams, you should be able to get atleast 90 percentile in JEE Mains. The counselling process is a bit complex and students generally have to take paid counselling to fill the choice details, etc. This could be made simpler for students.

Faculty

4

The faculty of DTU is one of the best in the country. The knowledge of the professors, the practical learning, etc. are all good. The faculty to student ratio is approx 70:1. Although few faculty members always send their PHD students to teach in class but overall it is good.

Placement Experience:

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, average package goes from 5lpa to 10lpa. Highest it has went 84lpa in Amazon so far and can for sure grow in future. 7th semester students become eligible for placement drives and companies like amazon, microsoft, newgen, tcs, ibm, etc are major recruiters here. Around 80% students do get placed but you can definitely be among them by refining your skills and maintaining a good cgpa. I plan to go for off campus placements as well as I'm interested in AI related roles but hoping for even better.

Placement Experience:

The placements are fantastic , many companies like google amazon and FAANG companies come here . Although i cant compare it with top IIT s but still a 25 lakh per annum package in CSE is still remarkable. The placement cell is often influenced by Placement coordinator but then DTU takes action against them and debar them from placements . If one does not get placement in DTU. , the DTU tag will obviously be more than useful in after course placements

Highest package for the last year was more than 1 crore. Avg package is somewhere between 7-9 lpa. 50-60 % students get placemnt from the college including off campus placements. I plan to either start my masters or join a good job if possible as whatever situation arises at the end of my course at this college.
