Haldia Institute Of Technology Review

I am studing Computer Science and Enginnering with specialization in Cyber Security, I am very much into this couse. I love these subjects in my course. I think the curriculum will not perpare you for the real-world applications, you have to do side hustle for this. The curriculum must innvolve the students with real world problem and they must give internship opportunities to the students, related to the course.

The college have good internship opportunities from the 3rd year onwards students and they must be eligible for it. You also need to maintain a good cgpa to get an internship. They provide internship in local companies and abroad companies.

The seventh semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like Tech Mahindra, wipro, imart, accenture, Cogmizant, HITECH,Haldia Petrochemicals LTD, infosys and many other companies frequently vists our college. This year the higgest package offered is 33 LPA. The total number of companies visited is 84. 51% students are placed (as per 31 march,2024).

Every year there is a tution fee increase happen in the college. Every year like 50k hike is happen in the college fees. The complete cost of my course with hostel is 638000 rs. But there are scholarships avaliable for west bengal's students. There is Swami Vivakananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship, which give 60000 Rs. to the prominent students and there are aslo some private scholarships avaliable for other students.

Our college has two annual festivals: Prayukti - This is the annual science and technology festival and Riviera - This is the annual cultural festival. It was help in the month of april each year. There are a varity of books and journals available in the library, include course related books and also story books. The teachers are well qualified and they teach us very well, but the classrooms are not so good.

In hostel, We have 4 students in each room, but the room is large enough. We have two fans, three tube lights, four beds for each students. The meal quality is not upto the mark, I think they must include varity of items for the vegitarian students. They give 4 time meals for the students. The registration process for the hostel is done with the admission process and it is affordable. We have to give 24000 each year. This is only the room rent, for the food it is up to you.

To be eligible for the B.Tech course. candidate must pass the 10+2 exam with a minimum of 50% marks overall, and at least 60% in mathematics and pass the english in the 12th standard or equivalent exam with at least 30% marks. If you want direct admission, the addmission from is on the college website and application fees in 1000 Rs. College have 15% quota in higher education and jobs for the Scheduled Class (SC) candidates.

The faculty to the student is not good enough, we have 1 teacher per 60 students, but some teachers teaches really good, like really good. Overall my learning experience is modarate. Some of the facalties have done M.Tech and Phd from IIT's and NIT's. They teaches really good. Every class have their own mentor and they are very promising and they help us in any small to big problems, either it is college related or it is course related even personal problems.
