Course Curriculum Overview
Instrumentation and control engineering is really in demand nowadays! I had an interest in this field due to the course's uniqueness and the subjects this course has. Some subjects prepare you for real-world applications while some subjects are outdated But we can focus on what is essential hence the subjects we need to study more for placement Exams are really difficult due to the university's unusual timings and ofcourse the syllabus is really difficult to understand.
Placement Experience
In my branch, instrumentation and control engineering placements are quite good! Students get eligible for placement in the 7th semester. Many companies like Emerson, Adani, reliance, Siemens, Cipla, and other start-up companies based in pune visit our campus . Last year out of 65 students in the instrumentation branch 50 were placed. With an average package of 4lpa and a highest package of 12lpa. Students also opt for off-campus placements as the IT hub in Pune is near. Almost 75% of people are placed during the last semester. My aim is also to crack the top companies in campus drive.
Fees and Financial Aid
As our college is government, fees is really less than other engineering colleges. The complete fees I need to complete this degree form the government college of Engineering and research in Pune will be around 2-3 lacs including everything. Campus placement for my branch is really good compared to other branches.
Campus Life
In our college the main event of the year is "Resonance" it's an annual cultural event followed by days like Bollywood day, mismatch day, gang day and traditional day. So all the happen in feb- march with the duration of 1 week . From jan we have our sports event called "Combat" It takes between all the 6 branches in our college with many games like cricket, tennis, badminton, vollyball, football, kabbadi, kho- kho, carrom, chess etc. compititions are held in different branches , hence the matches need time till feb and at resonance the combat winner is announced! There are many technical clubs in our college like robotics research lab , Sahyadri formula racers, falcon, astrophile, and many more. And there is cultural club for all the cultural activities held in college. The technical clubs takes part in many technical compititions in and outside of the college. These clubs have won in many compititions with their talent and knowledge.
Hostel Facilities
Honestly the mess is just like every other mess!!! Low quality food with no taste at all Hostel is really affordable though, the overall expenses go around 10000-to 15000 yearly! Hence the hostel is really affordable compared to pgs and other private hostels.
Admission
Admission to government college of engineering and research pune is completely based on CET and admission happens through CET cap rounds. Reservation is available and its also can be seen in previous CET cap rounds what was the %tile for reservation for our college. Exams here are really competitive and hard ! Hence people here get backlogs and even get year down due to poor performance! getting good cgpa matter for campus placement later.
Faculty
Our faculty members are all holders of phd degrees from big institutes like IITS , & coep, hence no doubt they are talented and are really good in what they teach. Faculty to student ratio is 15:70 Our faculty do solve everyones individual doubt, problems, so there is no problem in interaction.
