- Campus development: Being a relatively new IIT, the institute, inspired by CalTech's infrastructure, has been built beautifully and maintains very good standard
- Hostels: The rooms are bigger than older IITs and also cleanliness is maintained. AC facilities are available for summers
- Being a small batch size, the interaction between professor and students is better
Dislikes
- Placement opportunities are limited because of small batch size however they are quite enough.
- Lack of strong technological culture amongst students
- Transport facilities from campus to nearest city area is extremely limited
Course Curriculum Overview
The course content in upcoming batches has improved upon significantly and now also addresses industrial standards. Still a bit of this knowledge has to be self gained however the course structure is far better now.
Internships Opportunities
A tons of opportunities come every season especially in the field of computer science. Now due to market recession, a bit of impact is seen in software development roles however other cs options are widely entering into the lot.
Placement Experience
After completing degree at our institute, two widely chosen paths are either further studies or placements. The placements if well prepared from 3rd yr or get an intern in 3rd by prepping in 2nd year are quite achievable and not at all hard.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a variety of scholarships available to everyone, general or caste based. Also strictly merit based scholarships are in place to encourage students. Donor scholarships and alumni scholarships largely cover any cost incurred by you for any internship you might be planning to do.
Campus Life
There are two major fests that are organised completely by BTech student community, i.e. Blithchron, cultural fest and Amalthea, tech summit. Apart from this, Inter-IIT is well known tech, sport, cultural competition one looks forward to.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is perhaps the best offered in any of the IITs. The rooms maintain a standard of hotel rooms and most of them have lamps whereas all of them have AC facilities. It is compulsory for everyone in btech to opt for hostels.
Admission
The admission is strictly based on JEE Advanced rankings. This changes a little every year however you can check last couple of year closing ranks online to get an idea. It is not very hard to get into iitgn it you are consistent with studies.
Faculty
Being a small batch size, the interaction between professors and students is very convenient and there are multiple opportunities as well. The professors are highly qualified and have strong research background in their respective domains.
