What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the coding culture and the curriculum as it proceeded.
- I liked the senior junior mentorship culture.
- The seniors are very supportive and helps you out when you need.
Dislikes
- So much corruption, as the fund directed towards club gets eaten out.
- The campus isn't that big as much area is in the professor's block
- Even a small request towards the association takes a huge time to get done.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was much outdated before the application of NEP, which tried to improve the condition but it still is pretty outdated because some of the professors are still going by the old days. Overall as new faculty is admitted situation is getting better.
Fees and Financial Aid
The campus gives tuition fee waivers based on family income criteria. Which is available for students with an annual financial income of less than 5 Lakhs. It has 3 criteria: Under 1 Lakh- Full tuition fee, 1-5 - 2/3rd is reduced and 5+ have to pay whole fees.
Campus Life
There are 2 annual Fests which are Culrav & Avishkar. There is one Annual athletic meet & following this year there are various sports tournaments also. The clubs and committees are also pretty good which can improve your skills or you can learn a new skill through them.
Hostel Facilities
The first-year hostel (SVBH) is pretty good. The mess at the beginning of the semester will provide decent food but it will only go downhill from there. The 2nd & 3rd year hostel is an even bigger mess, but the final hostel, it's just the best.
Admission
The eligibility was the same as JEE Mains and you need to have <30K rank to enter this college. The forms are available online on the academic site, but still, the physical registration takes a lot of time.
Faculty
The newer faculties are much better and more understanding in comparison to the old faculties. The attendance criteria are too strict in those classes as even a 1 or 2 % lack of attendance could result in supplementary exams
