Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. The departments are well equipped with necessary equipment and accessories.
Environment: NITH is on of the greenest NITs.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college folllows the 2019 curriculum, which lacks certain important cources, but due to NEP, new curriculum is being framed, which will surely be a good upgrade. From 2023 onwards, the new curriculum is being followed.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are availabe in National Institute of Technology- Hamirpur. It has training/ internship opportunities for undergraduates, postgraduates, from other academic institutions as well.

Placement Experience

Placements are not that much good as compared to other nits. Computer Science and Engineering(CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE) have good placements compared to other core branches.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees for General category students is 83000 per semester. But its comparatively less for SC/ST students. Total fees per semester for a general student can go upto 110000, including hostel fees. NSP scholarships available.

Campus Life

Hill'fair is the annual cultural fest which is held generally in October. Nimbus is the annual technical fest generally held in March/April. Besides these, there are other events such as Prodyogiki, Abhudaya, etc.

Hostel Facilities

In first year, there are three seater and four seater rooms. The Kailash Boys Hostel is divided in five blocks. Meal quality is okay. In second year too, there are only three seated are four seated rooms.

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

Admissions are done through centralised system- josaa/csab, as well as through DASA. For that, student must have cleared Joint Entrance Examination(JEE Mains). General cutoff varies accordingly from time to time.

Faculty

The old faculty is not that much good, but the new faculty imparts quality teaching and are supportive. The DoPPS have a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:10. Talking about the faculty of DoPPS, they are supportive and interactive.

Many good companies visit campus for placement. In fact, an internship fair took place on campus. From the 3rd year and 5th semester, you get eligible for placements. They offer various profiles with salaries ranging from 3.5-5 lakh per annum.

Remarks:

Among the positive are low and affordable fees structure, ease of living, the chill environment and the overall atmosphere of the place. The location factor the it's present in Shimla plays an important role to. Among the negative are poor placement and internships. And the unjustified fees as compared to the resources. The negatives definitely have an edge over the positive here.

My college life at Arni University is awesome, the campus is huge and the infrastructure is awesome too. The campus is breathtaking and I had a lot of fun with my friends. We had the best facilities like computer labs, transport facilities, gym, etc.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation.
