Likes

Good college experience lots of festivals .
Clubs culture is one of the best in Pune lots of events ,hackathon, competitions
First year exams are online + less college hours so you can work on your self.

Dislikes

College is too chill for anyone who really wants to study in college
College size is very small 7.5 acre only and the intake is huge
Too crowded for its size and area is literal garbage it is in btw a slum

Course Curriculum Overview

As of first year the syllabus is HUGE but exams are ONLINE so doesn't matter only maths is offline and even then it is very easy compared to most institutes it will be a breeze . My friend had crippling diarrhoea still scored 8.6 cgpa.

Placement Experience

Placement due to recession is pretty bad still highest package was recorded this year and next year will be even bigger because of the web3 culture here as web3 is the only field that is offering tremendous packages to freshers

Fees and Financial Aid

College is too expensive with nearly 2 lack per year and is not lenient with fee submission u need to be on time.Scholarship are only available for CAP students if are placed after CAP good luck finding scholarships. And all the other scholarships are only for girls nearly no scholarships are available for general , male , ACAP students.

Campus Life

The campus life is good the biggest downside is its size college is too small and the outside is terrible but the clubs are great with multiple festivals events hackathon even to a point bringing internship opportunities in the college infrastructure is terrible just terrible

Admission

If you have 99 percentile in mhcet don't take this college look for other college in against cap rounds . If you don't it's a great college last seat for genral went for 98.4 and obc went 98.0 . Also one of the worst management . So you will have to wait whole midnight for your seat in ACAP round

Faculty

Faculty teaching in general doesn't matter in general in colleges only thing matters is how strict are they. In general in VIT every teacher knows students study more outside the college than in inside the college so are generally chill only thing students have to do is to be polite and attend lectures . Attendance === grades if you are in defaulter it doesn't matter but too little will affect your grades. Teachers are also very approachable

As out batch is of 2024 Covid batch there has been no such placement occurred but after that the ratio has increased

Life of a mech_engineer at VJTI

Course Curriculum Overview:

The part of the curriculum that inspired me to take up this course is definitely applied mathematics as engineering has a lot of math integrated in it and helps the student to improve his/her logic and problem solving skills which are very important in today's job market. Some areas where I'd like the syllabus to improve are NEP related subjects like PPS, Indian Knowledge System etc. These courses are not related to the major but are included because of the New Education Policy(NEP). I feel that most of these courses are a complete waste of time and can be replaced by better courses.

Reality of VIT, Pune

I had applied for COEP technological University, PCCOE Pimpri, and VJTI. I got confirmed addmissions in PCCOE for mechanical course , COEP for metallurgy and VJTI for textile industry. At the last, I took addmission in VIT mechanical. VIT, Pune has good nirf rankings and rather than opting for branches like metallurgy and textile industry I choose mechanical. And between pccoe and vit I choose Vit. Vit accepts admission through cet and jee mains. Also dor dsy students it accpets through cet exam. Cutoff changes every year has been increasing as number of participants has increased. Overall, after the allotment of the college it took 3 hours to take addmission. It could be less if you have alll required documents and fees has been already paid using mean like dd....Read More
