Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I opteed for this course because I like Maths from the school times and I have scored good in it. Also I thought just like in school Maths is only calculataion based but that was a misconecption in graduation Maths is calculative but also theoretical. In graduation you wil be taught about real Maths how the fromula came from etc. I think there are some areas for improvement. For example students only know some of the career options after Bsc. Maths . They don't know that you can go for various options like Isro, Drdo . Career councelling should be there before the admission into this course. The exams for this course are purely based on what teachers taught you in the class. They are not so hard if you study the notes properly and understand it you can do quite well. And also got cgpa more than 8 and some students also get more than 9 . Then exam are of 3 hours which is more than enough.

Fees and Financial Aid

About the fees, our college is one of those who have very less fees for almost every course they are provding. Our fees was around 10 000 and it remained same in three years . I think only 200 or 300 increases in 3rd year. College circulate the notice through their website and by their website you to pay the fees online. You have the time of 3-4 months to submit the fees. You have other expenses like rent of the pg, food accomadation etc. In our area, the pg's are quite expensive ( around 10,000 including food in some pg ) so around 15,000 is spend on rent , food and fun visits with friends Our college has various scholarships like for East Indian students, etc. You don't have any interships opportunities or campus placement from this college you to go to main campus of Du for internships

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life in our college is quite good. We have various types of a fest like Diwali fest Holi fest and various types of competitions and counseling and seminars. In one year we have almost 15 to 16 festivals/fest celebrations including freshers farewell. They are various societies for dance, singing, debate, acting, for environment. There various sports like Handball, kabbadi, football, yoga and aerobics etc There are various options for students other than studies Yo have quiet access to the library you can lend books for free fully air-conditioned library with three floors and you can find any book in our library

Admission

I was selected to this college through a percentage (cut-off) system. The percentage was quite decent. The first cut-off was 94% for Mathematics Honours. For this course one should have mathematics in his/her 11th and 12th. This course doesn't require any science background. Students from the commerce field are also doing this course. For last two years, the selection to this college is through cuet . It's a delhi university college. So to get admission in this college you have to pass the exam. Application form registration for cuet releases in December and exam will be held in June and July after the Board exam. For top colleges of delhi university you to score very high. The exam level is quite decent.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is suitable for students. The SEC ( skill enhancement) and VAC ( value addition) courses are helpful for students for their future. Which prepares well students for the real world applications. Areas of improvment are the teaching methods of professors, they should keep a polite behavior so they students can easily ask their doubts. Timings of exams are sometimes not suitable in winters it's freezing cold to go to exams in morning in December and jan months

There are many practicals i did performed in our labs which provides me experience. Almost all the apparatus are available to the students during practicals which makes it efficient to perform hard practicals easily. Exams difficulty is somtimes above average. Insufficient time during exams because the answers asked can only be explained in deep which takes longer time along with dig. Requirements.

Students depending on the course get campus placement offers from semester 5. But for most courses further studies and competitive examination is the preference and available route. My course does not have placements offered.

I choose mathematics because of my interest and moreover there is a wide range of career options after graduating in mathematics. It can be made more practical based. The frequency of exams happens in 5 months of semester. The difficulty level of exam is usually moderate but sometimes it may get difficult.

For me this Course is best because every thing in the curriculum is just broad version of 12 th and for me the science is easiest to handle as of my interest. Its just all i wanted Yes it is good but there is a very few career option within this course so either you have to do msc from reputated college or just plan else Yeah the only worst thing about this is if you do 4th year only the you got the honours degree in specific dse course The exam happened once in semester besides the IA tests are that are easy

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the B.Sc. mathematics honours curriculum as good in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. The syllabus is concept oriented and well strong theoretical foundations which is helpful for higher studies and competitive exams. The topics across semester is structured and this course is quite demanding and can feel intensive specially in the initial semester while the curriculum is academically, strong, incorporating more application based components could make it more better or balanced because it lacks there, and it's not more practically oriented.
