Bcom degree is not recognized now a days because people around take it as a simple course. But if you are really interested, you can build a career out of it. Bcom degree over a period of 3 years provides wide variety of knowledge in accounts, auditing, costing, business management, economics, advertising, computers and even taxation. All the fields of commerce are covered in this 6 Semester course. Only the thing is how students pursue it. Syllabus now has case studies for all subjects which help students get well versed with how the world beyond this walls works. It gives an idea as to how to find solutions for the problems in every field of commerce. However, I feel that the curriculum should include industry visits atleast once a year as the projects and assignments for the course are basically dependent on it. Besides this, studying is important even if you are pursuing a simple Bcom degree. I have realised that difficulty level of exams increase in every Semester

Fees for 1st year for plain bcom is around ?16,000 and it increases by ? 2000 every however for other courses fees are: BAF - 35k, BSC CS- 47k, BMS- 45k. It's to be noted that this structure is not exact but fees revolve around this amounts. Upon be8ng satisfied, the college allows students to pay fees in installments if situation so demands. Besides this, it provides various certificate courses throughout the year on payment of minimal course fees of ?1500 - 2000 such as TALLY, GST, EXCEL, basics of stock market, mutual fund, global trade and also have tie up with ICAI and provides TEL course. The students can have a no. of intershi opportunities short term/ long term as they wish for which they get stipends according to the firm they are inter in.

Pillai's college is known for its fests and events. The college not only provide development academically but extra curricular activities are carried throughout the year. Every department has its club eg. Commerce Club, you can be a part of it, Student Council which usually organises events like alegria. This opportunity are great to improve your leadership and management skills. Besides this, the classroom are well furnished with educomps and projector screens which makes study an interesting activity for our students. The faculties have tie up with various NGOs, social groups to carry out social activity which is compulsary for every pillaite. This social activity makes us (as students) encounter various social problems we had ever thought of and pursuade us to do something for this cause. The gymkhana, basket ball court, football ground, Quad, libraries and many more. The college also have dance groups fashion groups who have participated in big championships and had even won those.

Wanted to take admission in Pillais college of arts, commerce and science to pursue Bcom course. The admission process here works on merit basis and as I scored good marks in my 12th std. taking admission in this college was easier for me. The cut-off during my time was 65% however 1st list was closed on 75%. Intially, before commencement of admission process, visit the premises once so as to collect the brochure and be updated with changes in the process if any. Once this is done, collecct the application form. On the date when list is out and it has your name, confirm your admission on payment of the fees. If you belong to minority category, the process becomes simplier for you as seats are reserved and your 12th std marks hardly matters. For 1st year, you have to pay the fees via cash, DD or order. However, after that for subsequent years you can do it in online mode. On payment of fees, your admissin isconfirmed and now you are a pillaite.
