Up and Down sides of Assam engineering college

B.Tech in Electrical Engineering is a very relevant and comprehemsive course in today's world. I took this course mainly because of my interest in electrical engineering. Electrical engineering is a very vast field and has a lot of scope for futher studies and research and a lot of jobs are available for electrical engineers. The improvements required in the curriculum is that it is a bit old fashioned and should be updated along with the fresh breakthroughs in the field.

The fees is very less as compared to the premier engineering institutes as we only need to pay 20,000 rupees for 2 semesters. The hike in tuition fees rarely happens. The complete cost including the hostel and semester fees for the whole year is around 51,000. Ishaan uday scholarship is available for non droppers and ONGC scholarship for all students. Employment opportunities are scarce in the campus and we need to apply out of campus for jobs.

A yearly fest is conducted named "Pyrokinesis" in the college. It is usually held in the month of february-march. A lot of academic and non academic books are available in the library. A college sports week is held in the month of january. A lot of clubs like literary club, robotics club, coding club etc operate in the college which dont let the college life become boring.

The admission process was long and lasted for 2 months. There was an entrance exam conducted for the admission into the college named "CEE". The cutoff marks required for admission into my college for general was 72 and 70 for OBC(NCL), 57 for SC and 40 for ST. The exam is conducted once a year and is easier than the level of JEE(Mains). What i did not like about the admission process was that it took too long for the counselling process to end and the counselling comimitte should try and fix that.
