A good tag of Birla Institute of Technology, a reputed college, providing good placement
Campus is large, green, sufficient availability of needs
Greatly qualified faculty is there( especially physics), overall faculty members are fine

Large student intake especially having categories
College has no night life as the city is far away from the college

Chemical Engineering has a wide scope Due to its wide scope chemical engineering can be applied in many aspects of life Teachers should give effort in practical knowledge 1st semester exams are too frequent and hence it's difficult to complete syllabus

Placement is good for circuital branches,median is rising every year. From 3rd year students become eligible for placement Highest package was more than 50Lpa average is 14lpa. Good companies come for placement Cirucuital branches have a good placement, non circuital is bit low

Many Scholarships are given Fees are increased Complete cost is around 18-19 lakhs No campus employment undertaken till now by me A lot of fees is deducted in a scholarship if your rank is good ( below 5000)

Campus Life

Lot of club flagship events are organized in February followed by Cultural fest in march Sufficient books are present in library Good classroom facilities Great sports and extracurricular activities offered Lot of clubs are run by students which help in exposure

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are small for two person ( 1st year only). Hostela are changed in successive years Meal is good, menus have varieties Hostel is registered at the time of admission 30k is the fees for hostel for 1 year PG will be outside the campus

Spot round admission for the leftover seats Three round od spot rounds are generally conducted Eligible by jee or neet(only for biotechnology) Application form available in website. Website should be checked after csab No gaps between exams

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
