A brief review of life at Tezpur University

The course curriculum is the same as that of any other Engineering College run by the Indian government, i.e it follows the course advised by AICTE. The curriculum has been mostly the same since the last ten years. With the advancements being made in respective fields of engineering, necessary changes in the course would prove beneficial.

Students from other institutes can apply for research internships under different professors at Tezpur University. Many students thus get to experience the campus life of TU during their internship periods. These internships generally do not provide any form of payments such as stipends. Although under some circumstances, paid internships may also be availed by some students.

The placements of students at Tezpur University has had its highs and lows. Two or three years ago, students had received placements in conpanies like Amazon with hefty salaries. However, at present, the placement scenario has been facing some downfall compared to past records. Students can still get placed at different companies with an average package of around 6 LPA, however the chances of getting better off-campus placements is much higher.

For the first semester, the fees is approximately around thirty-four thousand rupees (?34,000). All the following semesters require an admission fee of approximately twenty-eight thousand rupees (?28,000). Various scholarships are provided by the government to students in need through NSP, state governments etc.

The campus life at Tezpur University is on par with that of some of the best universities in India. The beautiful enviornment created by lush green trees and fragrant flower beds all over the campus is an impeccable one. Various Festivals and events take place at Tezpur University around the year, making it an ever exciting place to be at.

The university is home to over five thousand (5,000) Students living in its many hostels. For an amount of around four thousand (?4,000) rupees per semester, students are allotted rooms in one of the hostels. The rooms are decently furnished, including a bed, a table, a chair and a wardrobe.The hostels provide thee meals a day, i.e breakfast, lunch and dinner, while charging a mess fees of 2.5-3 thousand (?2,500-?3,000) rupees per month. The hostels also provide 24/7 electricity and water supply with no additional charges.

To be eligible for the course of B.Tech in CSE at Tezpur University, the applicant must have a minimum score of 60% percentage of marks in their +2 exam. After that, they need to appear for the JEE Mains examination and based on its result, students may apply for admission. There are two ways to apply for B.Tech CSE at Tezpur University: one through central seat allocation authorities such as JoSAA and CSAB, while the other way is to apply through NE quota, which is reserved for permanent residants of north-east india.Both of these admissions are done on the basis of the CRLs of the students from their JEE Mains exam. 60% of the seats are reserved for the students of NE quota, while the rest of the seats are filled through the central authorities. Apart from this, students from abroad may also apply through DASA for the same.
