Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose Chemistry. But as such we get only one chemistry lab and one allied chemistry lab like biochemistry or process technology. And the other two labs are physics and mathematics which are totally unrelated to our theory subjects. We had to study MATLAB with mathematics students who have got no future scope for us. Instead, they could have given us C or C++ which could have been better. Also increasing chemistry labs would have been better. And biochemistry labs had expensive types of equipment and few in numbers, so we didn't get much scope to learn anything with such a huge number of students.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internships. But it is without any kind of pay. You basically have to work with a professor without any pay. But you don't have to apply either. If the professor has any current vacancy, then you may directly contact them and they will take you in.

College Events

4

There are two major events Innovision and NITRutsav. The first is a technical event while the other is a spring fest or cultural fest. Both were organized well. However, there is scope for improvement. The footfall was also not bad. But the celebrities they bring are not of a good standard.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's very much affordable. For people staying out of the hostel, they are not required to pay the mess fee. But they have to pay the hostel seat rent for them to participate in events of the institute. It was Rs.25500 for third-year students. Along with another Rs.7000 if you stay in hostel accommodation. All this amount is per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college will not help you to get loans. However, you can avail one from the SBI present on the campus. I didn't get one because I didn't have permanent residence in my city. And there was a clause where it was mandatory for the parents to be present at the permanent address at the time of scrutiny by the bank.

Faculty

4

The faculty is of a very good standard but they are often let down by poor academic structure. When we have an inorganic chemistry lab and physical chemistry and industrial chemistry theory paper, you can think why I said so. There was no sync with our theory and practical classes which were a letdown.

The curriculum is according to CBSH syllabus,New Delhi. The syllabus can include more practicals. And also the availability of instruments should be there to do practicals individually. The exams are normal ...but the time given can change sometimes due to external factors that might shift the exam dates.
