My college summary

I choose this course because of my low rank. Also it is an unexplored field and the courses in this branch are relatively on an easier side. Anyone can study for software side if he want because the course pressure is really low. There are no specific faculties in our college dedicated to a particular field.

For internships, companies come around starting of your 3rd year. Google, Microsoft, Accenture, willings, Flipkart, Amazon, HDFC Bank, Arista, Zomato, Tum are some companies that visit our college for internship opportunities.

For placement, companies usually come in the starting of 7th semester. Some companies that visit our college are Accenture, HDFC Bank, Zomato, Flipkart, HCL, etc. Highest package around 60lpa Average varies from year to year but generally around 20 lpa. Around 70-80 percent get placed with decent package.

Tuition fee is on a higher side for general category students. There is not much hike every year. As I am a general category student, my whole btech will be completed in around 10 lakhs including hostel and mess fee. There are a numerous scholarships opportunitues for people with low financial background. You can avail scholarships from different companies that have tie ups with IIT Mandi. Usually you get this type of information on your institute email Id. If you are in clubs that provide services such as web development, designing or photography club, you will be given compensations from other clubs or college faculty for your service. Also we have something called iHub which provides internship opportunities in startups associated with IIT Mandi. Getting these internships are really easy.

Technical fest - Xpecto (April) Cultural fest - Exodia (February) Sports fest - Rann - neeti (November) There are various sports and extracurricular activities within campus. Cricket, football, squash, and just name any game you wanna play, you will get that here.

You will be provided clean hostel rooms. Single, double, triple depending on which year you are in. Mess food is generally really nice. Registration for hostel is along with normal institute fees. It is compulsory for everyone to take hostel in IIT Mandi.

You may need around 2000 to 15000 JEE Advanced rank to get into any branch of this college. All application process is online on its website and you will be given your institution email ID. I am a general category student so no reservation benefits. All exams are from easy to moderate level with 2-3 courses with difficulty level high.
