NIT- A premier institute

The course opted by me in my institute is BTech in Electrical Engineering. I opted this course because of its broad future aspect and this being a circuital branch brings ample opportunities in tech as well as core feilds.Also the core jobs in this field can rarely be replaced by Artificial Intelligence,which broadens its future scope. Electrical being the hectic course and is considered as one of the difficult branches in engineering but also a interesting one.

Microsoft,Texas Instruments, Amazon are some of the well known companies that offer intership opportunities to the students with a stipend of around ?15000 - ?30000 depending upon the company and individual.

Campus placement drive begins from 7th semester of the course. Major recruiters of the drive includes companies like Microsoft Amazon Flipkart PSUs etc. Aprox 80% of the batch gets placed in the drive with an average package of around 14.7 LPA. Highest package of 65 LPA

The tution fee of the institution is ?62500/- per semester. The fee hikes are not regular. Along with tution fee an individual has to pay other expenses as well such as student activity fee, institute development fee etc. There are fee waivers provided by government on the basis of family income, which reduces the tution fee of the individual.

There are 2 fests held in my college, the annual cultural fest known as Confluence held in the month of October and annual techno-management fest known as Techspardha held in the month of March. Library of the institute has variety of books and a student can access to the ample of books and journals present of every field. College also provides a decent sports facilities of all major sports along with swimming pool and indoor badminton courts. There are various cultural and technical clubs where students can involves for their overall development. These clubs played an important part of the student life as students mostly spent their evening working for the club. The infrastructure of the institute is very old and requires proper maintainace and renovation with new and better facilities. Festivals such as Diwali is not celebrated with fanfare like other institutions does.

Hostel provided to boys in first year are triple seating but second year onwards they get single room facility. First year hostels are older one and are provided with a balcony, almirah,table, chair and fan. Hostels provided in second years are relatively newer and better infrastructure. Each hostel is provided with a separate lawn and some sports facilities such as volleyball and badminton. Meanwhile girls get single room from first year onwards only and the hostels alloted to them are newer ones with better facilities. Every hostel has its own dining area. Mess here is run by student body only which increases the price of the mess advance. Hostel mess provide food 3 times in a day and the quality of meal varies from average to good.

Admission to my institute and other NITs are done through rank ontained by an individual in JEE(Main) exams and through JoSAA and CSAB counselling held every year.A candidate is eligible for admission processes if he has cleared his/her category cutoff in JEE(Main) and also secured more than 75% marks with being in top 20 percentile of student in their respective boards. JEE being one of the toughesr exams in the world is very difficult to clear but with proper practice and guidance one can clear it.
