They recently reinforced curfew system, forcing us to stay within our hostel premises after 12 at night

The curriculum of nit calicut is highly regarded in our country. We have a lot of notable alumni with many achievements. The difficulty level of courses may vary depending on the subject. The professors here all highly qualified.

We have a lot internship properties every year. We are given 3 month sem break every year to do projects or intership every year. This also improves are chances for getting placed. We are trained for this from the very first sem.

We have great placement opportunities here. Almost over 90 percent 9f the fourth years are placed every year. The average package is 13-15 lakhs per anum. The highest package is about 65 lqkhs 0er anum

Fees and Financial Aid

We can get fee concession on the basis of our family income. Students with income between 1 to 5 lakh need to pay only one by fourth of the total fee and those with family income below 1 lakh need not pay the tution fee

Campus Life

Ragam is our cultural fest. And tathva is our culural fest. These are both among the biggest college fests in south india. Howevere both these fests were cancelled due to some 8ssues within administration this year

Hostel Facilities

The hostels are all very old building which lack various facilities we need. The meals provided at our hostels are just decent. There was a fee hike this year. We are required to pay the fee for the sem in advance every sem

Admission

The admission process was very efficient and hassle free. It was done through josaa portal on the basis of jee main rank and percentile. Two exams are conducted per semester - midsems and endsems. Its difficulty level is quite high

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Placement Experience:

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for attending campus placement from semester 7. Some companies that visits ICET are Utc global, Layland, DeltaX, etc. The average package given by the companies are 3 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed are around 40%. I plan to placed at any company.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
