Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to pursue mechanical engineering from the very beginning as I seek forward to work in an automobile company in future or aerospace sector The curiculum here is excellent as the department of mechanical engineering of Bit mesra is the oldest department setup in 1955 and has served a lot in nation building and providing the best of mechanical engineers across the country

Internships Opportunities

Companies here - Amazon - Microsoft - Google - Tata steel - Tata motors -Directi - Bain consulting Apart from these companies there are many more companies that recruit from our campus every year . The stipend is about 40k to 100k per month provided to students

Placement Experience

Bit mesra despite being situated in a remote area is knows for its placements and internships . The average of this season has been around 14.7 lacs and many students have been placed in top nothc firms from tech to core industry.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of our college is around 4 lacs per year ie 16-17 lacs in total . There are scholarships for students based on merit to support the students who come from families that have financial constraints. The name of the scholarship is the GP BIRLA scholarship I am a currently a vehicle dynamics engineer at Firebolt Racing , ie the official off-roading team of our college

Campus Life

Every year we have two fests ie BITOTSAV and PANTHEON . These fests are one of the largest cultural events in eastern india . We invite the best of artists from the Bollywood industry to perform here . The library here has all the books available for the course and has a very flexible system of issuing the books .

Hostel Facilities

We have shared rooms in our hostel ie 2 persons allotted per room . The quality of mess food is quite okay as per hostel standards . The registration process for hostel has been done online and is quite affordable .

Eligibility is JEE main Application is through Josaa counselling Exams are held frequently As for improvement the college can improve the hostels for the students and accommodate night canteens that used to exist earlier

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
