Remarks

The overall experience with the college authorities regarding any issue is good. One of the things that is on a negative side is that, any issue takes a little bit of time to get resolved. It will be eventually considered and the interest of student will be seen, but at times a bit time-consuming.

Entrance Preview

Ranked among the top 3 private colleges of Kolkata, Techno India is situated at the heart of the IT Hub of the city in Salt Lake Sector 5. This along with huge exposure to various opportunities offered in the college lured me to opt for it. One of my family members had passed out from the same institution who advised me to go for the same college which proved to be a successful decision in my life. Plus, flexible class timings, laboratory classes in the second half of the college, no restriction regarding attending all classes and most importantly, no dress code urged me to opt for the same.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is completely based on the latest technology and designed as per the current opportunities available. The first year will be an advanced revision of whatever you have studied in your higher secondary. From second year onwards, you are taught the subjects according to your stream. If studied thoroughly, one would surely become a thorough knowledgeable person, in the respective field, if not a master.

Internships Opportunities

College does provide internship opportunities within city & outside. We have to appear for an aptitude test followed by an online interview. The general stipend is around 12000-18000 per month. The experience as per the interns is overwhelming, the institutions are educative & interesting as well.

Placement Experience

4

Generally, over 80% of the students get placed by the end of placement season. Packages range from 3.3 LPA to 9.4 LPA Opportunities are provided for every student & the college has a policy of one student one job, so its provide equal opportunity to every student.

College Events

5

There are mainly three fests organized in college. Technical Fest EDGE , Cultural Fest ANAKHRONOS & Social Fest (one of its kind) FILANTHROPIA. Students are encouraged to participate in the same & are allowed to be in the committee from 2nd year onwards to be part of the festival.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is according to the norms of MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, to which TISL is affiliated to). A bit expensive but definitely feasible. The entire 4 years course will cost around 3.75 - 3.85 lakhs. With the semester fees being around 38-40k, the exam fees are quite low such as 1.5k per sem.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not have any loan facility as such. It has a bank within the premises which provides loan facilities to the students with low rate of interest. There is a merit-cum-scholarship scheme available in college, in which the semester fees gets partially levied, according to the semester marks obtained by the student.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is the most entertaining one. With common room, AC cafeteria and AC libraries, there is never shortage of to hang out. The boy-to-girl ratio is more or less equal and it's a ragging free campus since 2008. The Anti-ragging cell is very active, which handles any relevant situation with immediate effort and strictness. The college has a number of clubs, namely- photography (INFOCUS), robotics (RRC), literary (ECLECTICA), social (SAMARITANS), dance (ENIGMA), drama (MOKSHA), fashion club & etc.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities are satisfactory with mess food being not so tasty, but edible. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner make up the perfect combination of meals. Weekly once the meals would be vegetarian while other days' breakfast being a mix of north indian & south indian dishes.

Alumni/Alumna

Every department has its own reunion celebrations & the alumni association is helpful in every way possible. Be it generating funds for any needy student or giving references regarding placement opportunities, they are always just an email away.

Exam Structure

The exam is like semester pattern. 4 years, 8 semesters. Each semester is of 6 months and within each semester there are 2 internals. Internal consists of 15 + 15 = 30 marks and semester is of 70 marks in 3 hours. The previous years' question papers in Organizer. 10 marks mcq, 15 marks short questions and 45 marks long question answers.

Admission

I appeared for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Engineering Examination) and secured 4733 rank. I opted for the counseling process, filled up my college choices according to my choice in the preferred sequence (descending order of preference) and waited for seat allotment. I went to the specified institution for completion of counseling process - submission of necessary documents and verification of identity. After that went to my college, where the procedure was told. Next week, filled paid my admission fee and necessary documents to get admitted.

Faculty

3.5

One college consists of quite a huge number of faculties spread across a number of departments. It is never possible for an institution to have excellent faculties throughout, but I can surely say, the key subjects in the curriculum are taken by the senior faculties and they are highly educated and have huge experience in the field of teaching.

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
