Teaching is bad you will get a lot of strikes and holidays so you will get enough time to do other things you are interested in placements are really good, but you can sit in most of them only if you have cleared all the papers so make sure you dont have

I wrote Cusat entrance exam, CAT I got around 7200 rank and got IT stream i tried to get CS but only got IT the college was recommended to me by a relative.

In the first year, we had subjects from all the branches but Graphics, Mechanics etc were the important ones(based on the credits allotted to each subject) from second year onwards, most subjects were related to computer stuff like System Programming, Operating System, etc but we did have some odd subjects like Electrical technology, Financial Management etc. We had to study some minimum programming stuff in the labs but thats it no importance is given to programming, and a really bad programmer can score 80% plus in exams.

There were a couple of internship drives, nobig companies but i dont know anyone who did an internship from those drives but if you contact placement cell, they may arrange an internship for you i did so and got internship in TCS at trivandrum.

Companies started coming from early 7 the semester onwards the placement season started much before they started in some other engineering colleges companies like MuSigma, Verizon, Amedius,TCS, Wipro etc came so far verizon and Amedius offered good packages(60000 pm) while others offered around (30000pm), TCS took around 200 students from the whole campus.

There is a tech fest named Dhishna it intend to take the experience of learning to a higher level by conducting techtalks, seminars, video conferences with people in the industry, competitions to challenge one's intellect and also workshops to provide hands on experience. NIRMAAN, was conducted by the CIVIL Engineering Dept in 2014. VIPANCHIKA is the arts and cultural festival of the School Of Engineering. SARGAM is the arts and cultural festival of the Cochin University of Science and Technology.

There are three kinds of seats free seats, payment seats and NRI seats free seat students should pay Rs.43000 per year and for payment seat, it is 83000 per year for NRI seats, its about 1,50000 per year plus around 200000 as a deposit for current fee structure.

Cusat has introduced scholarships for 5% of the economically backward students who joined the B.Tech course in the self-finance colleges affiliated to the university.

Gender ratios were fine, something like 50-50 also there are no discrimination based on gender, caste etc. There is a university ground, basketball court, badminton court, chess club etc.

Hostels at CUSAT are cheap its only rs 155 per person for one month food is about RS 30 per day its not great but for 30, its fine its very difficult to get allotment to the hostels and it can take anything between 6 months or a couple of years.

There will be some ragging and stuff in the first year, you may have to write assignments for seniors. But after that the seniors are pretty friendly although occasional frictions do occur between seniors and juniors.

There are two internal exams per semester and one end of the semester University exam there are no problems unless you have backpapers in that case, exam schedules get mixed up and you wont get any break days.

There were only a few permanent faculties most of the temporary teachers are really bad they will never come to class, and even if they do, they will just stand there and talk and wouldnt teach anything they even appointed temporary teachers for really ha
