What Students Say
Likes
- I like the different events and competitions conducted by sports clubs, yoga clubs etc.,
- I like the way a student is motivated to explore the technologies on his own.
- I like the way the college trains the students for placement opportunities by providing Project school where real time projects are to be made and finishing school.
Dislikes
- The first thing I disliked is that course include several unnecessary subjects like chemistry, drawing etc,. which people like me are never gonna use in the future.
- The thing I disliked most is the management is very strict like a High school, and the ideology of the founder Neil Gogte is not followed by many professors.
Course Curriculum Overview
The KMIT is an autonomous College, meaning it has some freedom to teach the students in its own way but it doesn't have the full freedom to decide what to teach, The course is designed by JNTUH University as KMIT is associated with JNTUH. The course curriculum includes Various aspects of engineering like dealing with electronics etc., which helps in giving a basic understanding of computer science. These basic aspects help us in building or developing anything in the future. But there are some aspects which are not gonna be needed anywhere.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides several internship opportunities in small-sized and large-sized projects which the college management is a part. It also provides internship opportunities for students to teach right from the 2nd year. They are allowed to teach foreign learners who want to learn computer science. The internship opportunities are given after conducting an examination and an interview to test the social and teaching skills.
Placement Experience
KMIT provides great placement opportunities, KMIT has a full-fledged placement office to look after placement details. The training and The Training and Placement cell provides the official support base for the placement of Final-year students. If no campus placement is offered then the college also gives the necessary coaching to the student to obtain a job on his own, it also provides opportunities to work on the major projects of which the college is a part. The college also provides teaching opportunities to students to teach foreign learners.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship is provided by the University itself. The full-fee scholarship is provided for reservation students who belong to SC, ST, OBC, or other categories if his or her Rank is below 10,000. If his or her rank is above 10,000 some fee concession is done, to know further details reach the EPASS website regarding the scholarship. There are lots of College employment opportunities like Teaching-school where we have to assist foreign learners and other internship opportunities.
Campus Life
The overall Campus life is somewhat boring. There is no active Event preparation and the number of events are also limited. The management doesn't support fests. When it comes to the Social aspects, some webinars and hackathons are provided to socialize the students. There are various clubs in KMIT like sports clubs, yoga clubs, etc., These clubs conduct events to provide their services. The infrastructure is somewhat old and of poor quality, the systems in the computer labs are of old model, but they are good to handle basic development.
Admission
To get admission in KMIT you have to take a TS-EAMCET test conducted by JNTUH. The exam is conducted for 160 marks where 80 marks are for Mathematics 40 for Physics and 40 for Chemistry. The cut-off is 25% of the total marks to be eligible to get admission to a college. College admission is generally based on the Rank scheme, for General category students as per my knowledge one can have a high chance of getting admission if his or her rank is below 4000. Other than TS-Eamcet u can obtain admission through AP_Eamcet also but the requirement is huge. One can also obtain admission through management quota but I didn't like this way of giving admission, I think even Through management quota one should be tested before giving admission.
Other Applied Colleges
CMR Institute of Technology - [CMRIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
I have come to know the mechanism of teachings in KMIT college are very effective in tackling the JOB interviews and obtain a better placements, so I didn't opt for any other college.
