- Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great and mostly has all the facilities like sports grounds, buildings, lush green campus etc
- Faculty: All the faculties are top notch, they are all mostly PhDs and have experience in teaching
- Campus life: There are events happening throughout the year
Dislikes
- Hostel: Small hostels, meals very repetative, mosquitoes
- Admission interview process: took too long waiting for interview
- Strict: College is very strict regarding the in-time and rules, some of which are very irrelevant for MBA students
Course Curriculum Overview
I'll rate the course as an 7/10. Curriculum lacks practical exposure at times, there are lesser field trips than there should be. Curriculum mostly covers everything, faculties are good and are mostly PhDs with a lot of experience. It's a trimester system with exams every 2-2.5 months and difficulty level is easy to moderate
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are decent and the entire batch gets placed for internships and also, there are capstone opportunities for students looking to work in different industries. There are other presentations and assignments for continous evaluation
Placement Experience
Placements are decent, average package is around 14 Lakhs and highest goes around 26-29 Lakhs 100% placements My plan is around joining corporate after getting the degree and eventually having a startup to run
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees mostly increases every year, the complete cost of education would be around 21-22 Lakhs There are some scholarships given based on reservations and academic excellence based on previous academic records For the summer internship, the average is around 20000, my own internship is 10000 per month for market research role
Campus Life
The infrastructure is amazing, that's probably the best thing about the campus. There are fests and events throughout the year with our Flagship event - Melange held around February We've a great collection of books at the library and Bloomberg terminal is being set up at the campus Classrooms are well furnished, have projectors and ACs All the sports and extracurricular activities are available at campus and there are around 25+ club based on the interests of students
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is not that good. Doesn't have AC. There are mosquitoes. Although, girls hostel has a good infrastructure but basic facilities like laundry and gym are paid. Meals are okay tasting but very repeated
Admission
Eligibility of the course included graduated students/students from final year of undergraduate college and take students based on entrances score with different bifurcation being diversity, academic records, case analysis and personal interviews Admission form is found on the K J Somaiya Institute of Management website, application fees is around 2000 INR They take all the exams include CAT, CMAT, NMAT, XAT etc. Admission process was good but they made us wait for our interviews for a very long time, they could've given us slots for the same, it was a little hectic process
Interview Experience
Topics of Case Analysis was very general, UPI, Finance, Industries, Electric Vehicles etc Interview questions were: Interests Why MBA Discussion around it Hobbies/Interests General knowledge Prepared for these rounds by reading newspapers and learning new things
