Life of an average student at IITH

Actually its pretty good, all of the professors knows what a Grad student want, and would exactly deliver what will be useful to them, so in IITH we have Fractal system- which is one semester is divided in to 6 segments, so for every two segments you can choose courses, and its not like just mid and end exams, you will be connected to the subject whole semester, and its quiet easy this way, than just study before the exam, this was you can actually learn, so we have exams for every 2 segments In my branch, which is Material science and metallurgical engineering, we have labs included with courses, so many hands-on experience, if you want to persue career in core, these would really help, also you could work under/with a professer in your interested area Curriculum is cool, every day maximum i will be having 3 courses that's it. Difficulty level would completely depend on professor and course system, though its relative grading maximum times so you're fine

Mnay companies, with role of SDE qualcom, sprinklr, google, microsoft, american express, HDFC with almost 2L stipend, and some like BNY melon with business development roles with 1L, and some semester interships - with 2l per month many companies projects are basically - SDE projects available online, linkdin

placements are not that good this time, since there are many SDEs and jobs are less but - from seventh semester , a person is eligible for campus placements, there are many companies came and offered, google, microsoft, spriklr many offered around 37LPA , there are some PPO students , they got even higher -60 percent of students are getting placed on- campus - if i wont get any placements from n campus, i would apply from LinkdIn also i am doing projects under a professor so i would consult him, do any other projects in the same area, improve my knowledge then go in the industry side

Tuition fee- 3,00,000 each year, it doesnt change much, since IITH is still under construction if the construction is completely fee may decrease also, scholarships can be many there is institute scholarship ,and you could apply online - like Feabce excellence charpak scholarship in the structure - including mess and hostel fees it would be around 31,000 rupees, i know its a bit too much for middle class - but its worth it , we could take advantages of may things Campus employment- in Btech, you're pretty good in a course/subject you can apply for TA position(teacher assisstant) and could get some stipend of 500 rupees or something, and you can individually consult professors and you could make websites for their portofolio and can get stipend up to 10,000 rupees, and there is research centre here so you can do on your interested area, and you could do work for fests.

Campus life is one hell of a ride, fests are Elan & nVision- which is the biggest fest of IITH, we wait for this time of every year , celebrities will come, band and concerts , DJs that is the best time of every year of my college and other MILAN - which is interhostel fest , that is just for ourselfs, like one hostel vs other, even that is so much fun, we will get along and knwo other students, interraction levels up yes, there is avalability of books in library , there is a website to see if the book is available in library then you go scan your ID and take book, you can keep for like one month , there will be submission date, will be penalty of 5 ruppes per day if you submit late Sports - yes sports complex is there, you could play any sport - for every sport different court is present,coaches are well trained , they will help us in learning, and there is one competition called INTER IIT meaning IIT Vs IIT, so mostly people are practicing for that , but you could play for fun too

Hostel facilty - one room per person, now what else do we want , wifi LAN is present is given to every room, so each floor is divided in 4 pods, in each pod 8 rooms, in each pod 4 BTechs, 2MTechs, 2PhDs so that there will be more interaction and you can always talk to them whenever you want some help and everyone here are so kind Meal - it is Okay i would rat eit 3/5, some dishes are good, but some really out of the authentic ones so i cant tolerate some, its okay some days i can pass but mostly dal,chapati, rice, curs is good everyday - hostel, they will provide the block ,you can change if any room is empty

Yes, i have given an entrance exam - IIT JEE ADVANCED, but before one have to pass JEE MAINS- the application form you can find it online in official website and fees at that time 800 rupees for mains and 3200 rupees for advanced, frequency of the exam is once per year, and so the difficulty is very uncertain to guess, but it is said that in 2016 the hardest paper of JEE ADVANCED, and of JEE MAINS- usually there will be 2 sets but when i was giving MAINS it was COVID time, so we had 4 attempts out of which if one can pass the cut-off(88 percentile) and which is highest percentile of yours will be considered as final one, and for ADVANCED the cutoff would be subject wise, if you get more than 5% of whole-subject marks you are eligible Benefits of reservation, ofcourse we had different cut-off for both mains and advanced , it was 67 percentile for MAINS
