Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good as expected from an IIT. We have courses in every department and can pursue many academic courses according to your interests. AIl courses are also available in the college.

Class Size: 21Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides many scholarship opportunities and is easy to avail. We can easily apply for it and claim it during fee payment. The course structure is such that we get IC courses in the first year and branch-specific courses in the following years of the BTech

Campus Life

The campus life is dull if you consider engineering colleges. There are no proper student management bodies and the fests are not upto the mark. The classrooms are state-of-the-art and the labs are also good. The library is good with good stocks of books.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel accomodation is nice and the mess food is also quite good in comparison to other institutions where I have studied. We can easily apply for mess change as a form is given every month for our preference.

Admission

I cleared JEE advanced to get admission in the college and opted for it because of the great location and travelling hobbies. It's a quite good college as it is one of the IITs and have good academic affiliation. The college infrastructure is good and good people in salgi and kamand. The Jeeva cafe also have good ambience. But the college lacks in management due to less no. Of students the college management try to enforce it's monopoly and donot listen to the students. The fests are also lackluster and donot have artist to perform in it. The mess quality is quite good and better than expected. We have mid sems and end sems in a semester. But get long holidays after the completion of the semester. The admission process is quite long and should be shortened. The management also encourage students in extra curricular activities. We have almost every sports in the college available and also there are many cultural clubs and good in sense of exposure from it. The clubs include dance clubs,

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

Placement Experience:

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More
