Course Curriculum Overview
In my honest opinion, the actual MBA course is not all that it's hyped up to be. I only considered doing an MBA because of the money that I could receive after completing my degree. But I am not learning anything new in my course. I already did a comprehensive B.Com Honours course from a very good college which is probably why these subjects don't offer anything new for me. There is very little practical teachings that prepare you for the real world. One thing which it does is that it gets you ready for the hectic work-life of the corporate world with the constant quizzes, group assignments and presentations.
Internships Opportunities
There are lots of internship offers but it is hard to crack the interviews. You have to be really good to get in to good companies. The stipends offered vary from over 1 lakh to less than 5000 rupees.
Placement Experience
First years get to apply for summer internships from the first trimester itself and second years can apply for final placements from the fourth trimester. The companies who visit are famous ones with good brand value. Therefore, the starting period of the placement season is very lucrative. However, towards the end things get difficult and very few good companies approach the college. The stipends/packages also diminish. Lowest stipends are even nil, while final packages go down to 10LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since I haven't availed for any loans or scholarships, I don't have much idea about this. But the college has partnered with SBI to provide cheap education loans to students, and there are also avenues for scholarships based on need or merit. The fees is admittedly high, but worth it considering everything we get.
Campus Life
The campus life itself is one of the best features of this college. Since it is a residential campus, you get to interact with a lot of people and visit their rooms, etc. The people here are very friendly and come from all walks of life and various places in India. The campus itself is huge with lots of places to explore. There are even amenities like games rooms to relax. We have access to lots of sports equipment and there are lots of avenues for extra curricular and co curricular activities. The college is student run and all the events are hosted by students themselves.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is pretty good. Although it is currently twin sharing for first years, second years mostly get single rooms. The mess food is very good quality and tasty, although it is not the healthiest and does not offer enough protein. The room provides you with a study table and chair, and a cupboard. Each room has an attached bathroom. There is no AC or heater.
Admission
There was an interview process prior to which we had to take the CAT exam where I scored 98.48%ile. The interview was taken by professors from IIM Udaipur. It went very well. I didn't like the long wait and the lack of clarity until the results were declared. Also, some of the questions asked during the interview were not relevant to doing an MBA.
Interview Experience
There was only an interview apart from the standard CAT exam that most MBA schools require you to take. The interview was not too difficult. The interviewers started off with a grilling tone and asked some questions based on my undergraduate course. But once I answered them correctly, they seemed pleased and asked some standard HR questions like why I want to do an MBA, why this college specifically, etc.
