Entrance Preview

I took the CET(Common Entrance Test) of Karnataka state in 2001. This college is about 70 kms from Bangalore in Tumkur Town. I chose it over other colleges in Bangalore as it was considered as one of the topmost colleges of Karnataka and also the cost of living was less than Bangalore.

Placement Experience

The placements and job opportunities were. In my batch about 50% students were placed,though I was not placed in campus.

College Events

The name of our annual cultural college fest is "Halcyon". It is fun time for the students and participants come from most of the colleges of Karnataka.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any loan and as per my knowledge no scholarship was provided to students. Instead there was huge difference in tuition fees between Karnataka students and students from other states. Karnataka students were ample discount in tuition fees depending upon their socio-economical background. Students from other states were charged a uniform tuition fee which was about 3-4 times higher than Kannada students.

Campus Life

Campus life was cool. Gender ratio was 30:100 for girls:boys. The student s came from all parts of India. There was tolerance regarding gender,ethnicity,race or religion. Students from outside Karnataka state were never harassed and they felt at home. The local students accepted out of state students with open arms. Most of the students were from middle-class families.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels were neat and tidy with all basic amenities. Two students occupied a room and we had common toilets. There were ample rooms for all outstation students and hostel fees were on the lower side. Though we were provided only south-indian food in m

Alumni/Alumna

SIT Alumni Association has its meetings on 2nd October every year. The Bangalore Chapter was formed in 2001 and its meetings are held on 1st May every year. Hyderabad chapter was later formed in 2006.

Faculty

Most of the faculty members were sincere and knowledgeable. They had in depth knowledge of their respective subjects and were committed to make students understand the topic.

My College Story

Placement Experience:

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

My College Story

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”

My Honest College Experience at CIT(Cambridge Institute of Technology)

Placement Experience:

The students who are studying in 7th semester ( final year) are eligible for campus placements but before that in 5th semester there is pre placement training like aptitude everything. Top companies visit for placement like TCS , infosys, wipro, accenture, capegemini, IBM, techmahindra, Mindtree. Average there are 150-250 offers. Average package is 7-8 lpa. The highest package is 54 lpa at botify company. 85 % of students get placed at cse branch and ai amd ml and civil 30 - 50% . Overall 80% students gets placed. My plan is join a top product based company liek google with a good life.

Great college with poor placement

Placement Experience:

Placements are the only bad thing about the college . Average ctc is only 4 lakhs per annum and only handful of students get actual placement.and rest get placed in either call center or training companies

A complete discipline with education

Placement Experience:

The placement are good average packages 8 lakhs highest packages 35 lakhs and the companies include Google ,Microsoft ,service now companies and usually internships are provided as students become eligible for internship after 3rd year percentage of students getting placement 80% my plans still not yet decided

- Talking about me choosing this college over other colleges is because Siddaganga Institute of Technology comes in the top 10 colleges in the entire Karnataka and also has an NIRF ranking below 100. - I had applied various other colleges in Bangalore, but my ranking from KCET was 10,072 which was too high as per the cutoff put by those colleges so I couldn't get colleges in Bangalore and I landed in here. - I didn't get any rejections from other colleges as I had a good ranking in KCET exam along with an aggregate of 93.3% in my 12th. It was just the cutoff of the colleges that made me land in this college and I don't regret being here as I am happy that I am in one of the best colleges in Karnataka. - The admission procedure is simple. If you are coming through KCET or ComedK, then the seats will be alloted by the respective board and these students just come with the required or mentioned documents and just come and do admission in here. If the student is coming through Management seat then he has a different procedure. - There is no particular eligibilty criteria for admission in here, just one thing matter is the students rank which must be below the cutoff mentioned by the college. - The exam most preferred by the students is KCET, whose cutoff varies as per the branch they want admission for....Read More

I had got selected to this college based on my KCET EXAM rankings and i had given this college as my preority at 4th place and got it. i was so happy about getting this college and there was no other second thought and joined here.
