Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose the CSE course because iam interested in the software development field. The present curiculum is good it provides with handful of real world projects and applications at the end of the course. If interested in deep diving we can go for further academic pursuits also.As for the improvement areas it would be better if they add the courses for trending technologies in the industrial market. The exams difficulty is medium,Teaching methods are based on attending lecturer.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships oppurtunities are less(not too low). Most multinational and banking companies offer internships in various roles mostly data analyst roles for cse with minimum stipend based on the company. Around 60-70 members get internship every year per branch.

Placement Experience

3.5

Semester 7 students are eligible for campus placements. The placements are average due to the recession peroid the no.of placements decreased a little bit but going on good. Around 80 companies visit every year. And the packages are also average.Highest package is around 50 lakhs and average package is around 10 lakhs. Around 90% students get placed every year(not the exact numbers though).Iam planning to do a job after getting my degree to gain some real time experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have income certificate. So my fees per semester is around 5000/-,There is notution fess increased it is fixed and we can view it in the NITC website. The total cost of my education per semester is around 30,000 including hostel and mess charges, excluding my personal spending. There are many scholarships available, we can apply it according to the requirements they need.

Campus Life

3.5

My overall experience with campus life is good.Focusing on social aspects there are good peer group around me who motivates me in doing and learning new things. There are many clubs in NITC you can choose based on your interests.most of the clubs are active and enthusiastic. There are 2 major fests held in NITC.One is thatva conducted in march or april month.other is raagam conducted in october or november month usually, but not fixed though. There are wide range of sports and extracircullar activities offered on campus.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facility is good,A room is provided with 2 beds,2 tables,2chairs and a cupboard for double rooms.Single rooms are given for 4th year students. There are many messes available in the hostel.Mess quality and menu are above average.Hostel is affordable fees per month is around 2000rs.Registration process is done in the hostel office

Admission

Admission process is based on JEE mains results.Eligibility for the CSE course is based on the JEE mains rankings. The cut-off for cse in 2021 for female is around the rank 10,000 .application form, fess and dates are vailable in Nit calicut website. The application is processed through Jossa once we register. JEE mains difficulty level is average,In 2021 4 Mains exams were conducted. The best of 4 is taken as final percentile. The present admission process is good but we have to submit lot of documents during this process. This is a little difficult part during admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
