Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Firstly IT is an growing industry and has many growing opportunities. I am part of new education policy, the number course that teach u skills have improved. Also one can find many intership programmes and boot camp to boast their skills. Focus on real life projects must increase and students should get flexibility in attendance to take part in internships. The exams are conducted semester wise and and quite moderate. With a bit of hardwork one can score good.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Students find internship under IITs and NITs and focuses on many skills. Also interships are provided from platform like instershalla, einterselite and more. For the first year student it is pretty hard to get stipend. We have Code club and GDSC(Google Developer Student club). This clubs aid in getting internships.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students of 6th and 7th semester apply for campus placements. Highest package was of 40 lakhs while the avg package if 4.5 lakhs. Major recruiter are Infosys ltd, wirpo, TCS, cognizant and more. In year 2022-2023, the number of students who got placed were above 400. Also off campus jobs are pretty high. I plan to work hard for a campus placement and start after ending college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee of college is 1.7lakhs and mess and hostel fees sum upto 42 thousand. Smvdu provides scholarship to students based on their jee mains ranks and also on the basis of merit. If the rank is within 1 lakh 3semesters fees is omitted. It also provides assistance in getting student loans.

Campus Life

3

Our college has annual sports event and many more events and various months. Many seminars are given by guest lecturers. Our library has vast collection of books and journals. We find most of the books required there. It also provides many online platform for books and journals. We have decent labs and workshops aiding in technical growth. There are many clubs here. Music, dance, book clubs and more. They organise events and give chance for students of same mind to meet.

Hostel Facilities

4

SMVDU has 7 hostels. We first years boys are made to lodge in New Basholi hostel, while girls in Shivalik. We are generally given double or triple occupancy rooms. In later years, one gets single rooms. WiFi is provided and rooms are good. Meals are of good quality and menu is fixed for the weak. Menu is not repeatative and good wishes are provided. The hostel is completely vegetarian. The locality also has rooms to rent for.

Admission

First I appeared in Jee mains 2023 exam. One can find the information on josaa portal I secured low rank. Then I got the admission through josaa counciling. I did avail reservation benefits. The exams where hard and two sessions where conducted last year. The process of admission is pretty clear and but information should be provided more early.

Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good things is that they offer minor courses for us where we can choose extra courses which we may find interesting and yaa not only that interdepartment projects can also be chosen which is very strange but don't seems relevant.curriculum earlier they were following of iit Delhi and new curriculum is not very exact and relevant because sometimes there are some unnecessary courses and no point of learning that course which forcefully imposed on us to take this course as it comes under institute department courses and are mandatory which is not so good

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me
