Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Since the new Director has taken charge from our batch itself, I can't really compare. The current curriculum is a little rigorous but then I believe this in some ways is beneficial for us. For example, Sports has been made mandatory. It carries 10% weightage in our overall results. Guest Lectures are mandatory as well. The college conducts Ken & Economist sessions that will help the students to be prepared for the group discussion rounds. Sone of the subjects within the three trimesters may not feel relevant but some really help in developing your personality. One problem that i feel is that the batch size has increased over the years and I don't consider it a likable factor. But then, its all about how you are taking the things that you do in college.

Internships Opportunities

3

Many good companies came in for the internship offer for the students on the campus. Some of them were JP Morgan, Cisco, Tata Consultancy, Kotak, ICICI, HDFC, HSBC, Apollo Global Management, Colgate, Reliance, and Jio Creative Labs. The companies came with roles offering in diverse fields in Finance, Marketing, HR and operations. From research to sales, there were a variety of roles offered for the internship opportunity.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college has really pitched in some good companies for summer internships and has tried to get their students placed. But, the market conditions of this year were so down that some of the companies opted out from any campus placements which was a huge setback for the colleges this year but then it went pretty well if we take the market conditions into consideration

Fees and Financial Aid

The current fee structure is 20 Lakhs for the two year MBA Program and it may or may not be increased in the future. The hostel fees is additional 250000 including mess charges. The college also provides scholarship opportunities or financial assistance to the students concerned. There is a whole different process for that.

Campus Life

3

Since I am not from Mumbai, my experience didn't go that well in the beginning as there was this whole cultural shift for me but then as we went on through the trimesters, things started going fine. I mean some are really enjoying it here but then there are some as well who are just waiting to get through these two years. Almost all the festivals are celebrated here in campus, and regular feasts are held on some specific occasions, movie nights take place, garba dance and a lot of cultural events take place. The annual fest Melange also happens somewhere during Jan-Feb. as soon as you enter the college, certains sports events will start kicking off such as inter-division, inter-committee and then inter-college as well. There are two libraries in the management college as well as a bloomberg lab.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is fine. We do get some facilities but then I think the hostel part needs some improvement. There are water coolers on every floor and a night mess which opens till 2:00 am. However, the network is really a problem here. Jio doesn't work and the wifi also is not that up to the mark in the hostel. Although, they have said that there will be wifi connectivity in every room by the time we get back from our internship. Let's see.

Admission

The admission process went great. The eligibility criteria was 224+ for NMAT and 80 percentile+ for XAT. I got shortlisted through XAT. We had a one-on-one Case Analysis round with the moderator and then a Personal Interview round. Both rounds went pretty smooth. The application for the college is supposed to be filled out from the website itself. The college notifies when the admission process starts. Also, people from the college do call and enquire about your interests for the same. I missed one of my deadlines for the form but then they were generous enough to extend it since a lot of people couldn't submit it in time. Apart, from this I had a great interview experience with K J Somaiya. For some it was rigorous as well so can't really comment but yes overall it was fine.

Interview Experience

4

Yes, I had a Case Analysis round during my admission process. The topic for my case analysis was- Do theatres hold a chance in the future with the growing trend of online movie subscription platforms? So two moderators presented me the case discussion topic and then I was given 5 minutes to prepare for the same. The discussion from my end went on for about 8 minutes and then they asked a few questions and got done with it. The interview was application-based. They asked me about the topics related to my graduation subjects mainly banking and finance since I mentioned that this is the field I was interested in.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements after completing 2nd semester and entering in 3rd semester. Attendance is compulsory for getting the opportunity for placements. The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
