What Students Say

Likes

The fests organized are very enjoyable and you can enjoy with your friends.
The clubs will help you to create more friends and you can improve your social circle as well.
The placement are good and if you work hard enough youll get good placements.

Dislikes

The curriculum is a bit harsh and study intensive youll have to focus on your studies as well
Youll have to pressure from your clubs, youll have to give a lot of your time to clubs.
Some of the professors are a bit bad they dont want to take their time and guide you.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am from Mechanical Engineering , the course is well structured and will prepare you to tackle all the challenges you will face in real world. Personally, I preferred to take this course due to my interest in the field of mechanics and the curriculum includes labs in which youll face the the problems which will set you for real life problems. Improvements can be made in syllabus to make it less theoretical more practically based curriculum which will reduce the stress on students. Exams takes place once in a month which is for 10 marks and once in 2 months which is mid sem for 25 marks and one which is final exam for 50 marks.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees is approx 15 lakhs. It includes tuition fees , development fees and etc. And additionally youll have to pay hostel fees. Scholarships are available for SC , ST and EBC and campus recruitments are good almost 90 percent students are placed averaging 18 lpa.

Campus Life

Campus life is good , fests happen frequently the main attraction in the main cultural fest BITOTSAV which is the largest fest in East India and then we have tech fest, there are various clubs which you can join as per your interest.

Admission

To take admission in this Institute you have to appear in JEE MAINS and secure a good rank and then apply for JOSAA counselling and if your rank is good enough you can secure a seat in this Institute. Once you complete the counselling process and secure a seat in a course, you'll have to come to Institute for offline admission in which you will have to pay the course and hostel fees after which youll be assigned a roll number. Then youll be provided with a id card and then will be proceeded by course registration for your first semester. The admission process could be more smoother since it was a bit haphazard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
