My life at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus

The curriculum in BITS Pilani is well designed to match with what the industry demands, not just the skills that are currently in demand but also the practical applications of concepts. There are project courses, thesis, practice schools, laboratory courses, etc. which can be opted by students to pursue the path of their choice. Also students can select their own courses as electives which help in providing exposure to subjects of different domains

The placement of college has improved within years. Almost all of us got placed in good companies with decent packages. I would say there is unlimited opportunity for placements and internship. If you are a good hard-working candidate, it will be very easy to crack the process.

Fee structure in split into tuition fee, hostel fee and extra charges. Total fees per semester is 2,30,000, which comprises of hostel and tuition fees both. Tuition fees per semester is 1,50,000. And hostel fees was 70,000. The extra charges included medical fees, library etc

The campus life was very vibrant. We had 3 fest per year. The culture for clubs and committees is very vast and campus. Life is pretty good. The variety of students who come in the college or from diverse background which helps you polish yourself. Extra curricular activities and sports culture was there in the campus and there were not much of restrictions for students in all the social life and infrastructure was amazing and the experience was good studying in Bits Hyderabad campus

We had single sharing rooms and the rooms were decent size. All the faculties were available. The food in bits is very nice. The menu is very fast. We also have 24 hours available canteen. If required I would say that hostel was pretty affordable in terms of what amenities were provided to us.

For admission to BITS, one must pass the entrance examination, that is BITSAT. Anyone who've scored 60+ as aggregate in PCM in their 12th is eligible to apply for BITSAT. There are no reservations in admission for SC/ST/OBC or pwd in BITS, however certain seats are reserved for pupil applying through NRI quota. Details about examination, application, fee structure, etc. can be found on official site of Bits Pilani. Personally I was quite happy with the application process. One of the areas which I would have liked to change in the whole process is - giving the students slightly more transparency in terms of how the campus and the branch is allotted. It was more like a black box during the process.
