I really liked the ambience and how huge this college is .
There is a lot of Greenery in the collge.

Dislikes

Hostel Timing , Girls hostel have a timing till 9:00 PM
Library is not opened 24x7 and moreover there is no night canteen

Course Curriculum Overview

Chemical Engineering mainly Deals with the aspect of Reactor design and Refining and process industry. I slowly developed an interest in Chemical Engineering after it was allocated to me through my Counselling. The faculties are helpful.

Class Size: 56Course Fees: INR 1600000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships are both on-campus and off-campus. For Core Branches such as Mechanical and Chemical getting an internship in any PSU or Companies like TATA is delightful. You can start doing projects once you reach 2nd year.

Placement Experience

Placement Session begins in the 7th semester. Placement Percentage is around 84%. Tech Companies offer the highest of packages. Companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and Atlassian visit here. For Core people prepare for GATE.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is higher compared to other GFTIs. And It is about 16 Lakhs including Mess fees. There is a scholarship called the GP BIRLA Scholarship based on Merit. Fees in NIT compared to here are minimal based on the placement you get.

Campus Life

There are numerous Clubs categorized between Technical and Cultural Clubs and Each Club hosts its annual event. There are two mainly technical and Cultural fest organized. Pantheon is a Technical fest whereas Bitotsav is an annual cultural fest.

Hostel Facilities

In the first year, we get a double sharing room but in the second year, we get single occupancy. Every room is provided with a LAN connection and the Hostel has WiFi. Mess food is eatable sometimes it tastes bad.

Hostel Fee: INR 19000 per year

Admission

The admission is done through JOSAA and CSAB counseling. And For Chemical Engineering you should opt for a rank below 60k. There is a 45% Reservation for the Home State quota and Various other category-based quotas are there. There are two quizzes conducted in a Semester and a mid-sem and an End-sem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
