Likes
- I liked the infrastructure of labs and academic block a lot here.
- The campus life is also good as a big campus is there. If you are feeling low then go to the river side and sit for a while it will give you back your energy.
- Faculties of mechanical department are really cool and chill and have a positive approach towards students.
Dislikes
- I didn't like the in time rule of 9pm for girls.
- The faculties of ECE department. They have made life hell for the ECE and EEE students.
Course Curriculum Overview
In first year we have to study all the branches of engineering superficially and I find that kind of irrelevant to some extent. 3rd semester onwards core engineering subjects will be introduced and more core labs will be there which will be more relevant and interesting to give time in. In mechanical engineering subjects becomes a lot more interesting from 3rd semestera and the labs are also very well maintained and have useful machineries.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is a bit higher than that of NITs. It's around 4 lpa. You will easily get a financial loan here that's not a big issue. Campus employment opportunities are good. Around 80% overall students get placed every year and in that too there are a handful students from every branch who bash a massive package in big MNCs
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty good. The campus is very big and have a lot of places to hangout. One thing that I don't like about my college is the girls in time. All girls have to go inside their hostels by 9pm and it's too early I feel. Most of the clubs are very active here and are doing good in various competitions. We are winning in MooD IndiGo, Spring Fest etc. The Library here is big and has almost all of the required books. BIT Mesra has organises two fests. One is the technical fest known as Pantheon which happens in September - October and the other fests is the cultural fest called "BITOTSAV" very famous fest.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel room and bathrooms are good and clean much better than what I have seen in old IITs. The mess food is also decent. Sometimes they even make really good food but overall the food quality is decent. Hostels will be assigned on the day of physical reporting to the campus and hostels are good and affordable.
Admission
The cutoff for mechanical engineering btech goes around 45k rank in josaa and around 60k rank in CSAB counselling. My experience of admission process was good. So, I won't add any negative point in that.
