Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is up to date and well versed. The curriculum includes mathematics as one of the important pillars, and as I like mathematics I decided to choose this course. It also includes logical and critical thinking, which I like. The curriculum prepares you completely for all real world applications. No such improvements is required according to me. The exams are not so tough. And the exams are held once in the middle of the semester and end of the semester. And in between quizzes are given.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship opportunities available in the college are very good. Top MNCs and faang companies come for internships. The role is of general intern , to give assistance in a particular task. Generally all interns get pre placement offers. I have not tried to get a internship yet as I am in first year, so I don't have much idea about it. But I have heard that the opportunities are great in the college

Placement Experience

5

Placements and internships are really very good in the college. There is no such criteria of eligibility but generally most of them are from third and fourth year. All the top MNCs and faang companies visit the college, I am not sure of the exact number of offers made but it's in a significantly good amount. Highest package is 60 lakh and average lies around 25 lakh per annum. The percentage of students getting placed are high , around 95 to 100 . The remaining students opt for higher studies or startups.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure is very affordable. Within ten lakhs, all 4 years can be managed. If u get some scholarships based on reservation then it will be even less. There are many banks ready to give financial assistance to the students in the form of loans. And the campus employment opportunities are very good as top companies visit the college during placements. The tuition fee is almost same every year.

Campus Life

5

The overall campus experience is very good. The nature is too beautiful. Club involvement is great. The infrastructure provided is also very good and more new constructions are going on to provide even better infrastructure. The technical fest is Engineer. It's generally held during October or November. The cultural fest is Incident, it's generally held during February or March. There is a vast range of books and journals available in the library. There is also an e-library providing great resources. There is a projector in every class including wifi. And charging sockets on every table. There are many sports and extracurricular activities offered on campus, many events always keep happening in the college related to these.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is nearly average for first years. All the rooms are non AC but basic requirements are addressed. Meal quality is average and the menu contains vast varieties. Registration process for hostels can be done through college website. And it's affordable.

Admission

The admission process was mostly online including counseling. Only the last few steps were done offline. The admission is based on JEE main exam results. The cutoff depends on many categories. The cutoffs are different for home-state students and other state students and also depend on the reservation criteria. The application form can be obtained from the NITK website itself also you need to join the counseling conducted JOSAA to get admission. I got a seat through the gen EWS category. The exam is a bit difficult and is conducted two times one in January and another in April. The offline process can be removed during the admission process

Other Applied Colleges

IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITM] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Metallurgical and Materials Engineering)

Because I felt it was a lower branch and I might face problem during placements

The institute records an impressive average package of ~INR 7.20 LPA and the highest packages reaching up to INR 53.50 LPA. The college actively drives employability through a dedicated 'Talent Transformation Hub'. Campus Placements Overview CIT is known for its solid industry connections, resulting in 80–90% placement rates annually. Top Recruiters: Companies like Accenture, Infosys, HP, Amazon, and Samsung. The Process: The placement cell conducts specialized skill-building boot camps and provides structured mentorship to ensure students are corporate-ready by graduation. If Placements Fall Short: Employability & Alternative Plans Even though CIT consistently places the vast majority of its batch, students who do not secure on-campus job offers (or wish to pursue other paths) have robust support through: Startup & Entrepreneurial Initiatives: CIT has an active E-Cell and a business connection to help budding founders. The Talent Transformation Hub focuses on practical knowledge needed to start a business. Higher Education: Students frequently leverage the college's alumni network and faculty mentorship to prepare for competitive exams like GATE, or to apply for Master's programs (MS, M.Tech) in India or abroad. Off-Campus Drives & Internships: Students are encouraged to undertake industry internships and live projects to build their portfolios, making it easier to land off-campus roles at top tech companies.
