Course Curriculum Overview

4

MBBS is the noblest profession of humanity. MBBS course is required to become a doctor who plays key role in the healthcare system of our country. Its curriculum teaches us to treat patients and increase the longevity of peoples. The class should be strictly taken in English language and not in vernacular language. Teaching method used here is already up to the mark. Weekly tests should be taken in order to keep students engaged in the academics. Difficulty level should be as same as the level of NEET PG and INICET.

Internships Opportunities

4

• Internship duty is very regular and lot things to learn here due to a huge patient load of around 4000-6000 patients daily. • Interns are paid a very good amount of about Ra. 30K which is more than most other medical colleges of India.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hike of tuition fees is as such negligible. The total cost of MBBS at Kolkata medical college would be Rs. 60K to Rs. 80K for 5.5 years. Other expenses may vary and depends upon the personal expenditures. Many scholarships are available for the needy students provided by the state and central government. Stipend awarded during 1 year compulsory Internship is around Rs. 30K.

Hostel Facilities

4

•Hostel facilities: A large room with well working fans and lights along with bed, chair and study table is provided. One room is shared by 3-4 students. • Meal quality is almost good but also depends upon the taste of the person especially for the students from other states. • Hostel allotment is done by the college authority. • Hostel charge is almost negligible i.e. Rs. 12/ month for water, electricity bill etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite well maintained till 3rd year but the final year syllabus is too vast to complete within 1 year. I feel duration has to be increased a bit. The process of acquiring knowledge entirely depends on the individual pursuing this course as there is no spoonfeeding as in other courses.
