Likes

Affordable as compared to other engineering colleges
Environment is good at least inside campus
Peer group as people from all over India are here

Dislikes

Washrooms of hostel are a nightmare, everyday has become a adventure I don't wish to take
Management issues during some events, you'll have to wait for hours during registration
Like most of the colleges some people are under the influence of drugs,

Course Curriculum Overview

The mechanical engineering course is good, as it aligns with standard mechanical engineering subjects like thermodynamics, strength of material, theory of machines, etc. Mechanical engineering is an evergreen branch you can most likely work on automobiles, power plants etc. However it has some drawbacks too like machine drawing, where you have better options like CAD software

Placements are okay, if you want to go into core, you must have good cgpa, if you want to go into IT sector, you have to develop skills and participate in hackathon and then too you have to maintain a decent cg

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee structure is affordable as compared to other engineering colleges, since it is a government institute if your family's yearly income is less 5 lpa then your fee per semester is 35000 only and if your family income is less than 1 lpa it's even less, it's less for SC and ST candidates too

Campus Life

Campus life is good, the campus is good overall, and we have various cultural and technical, clubs and societies to enhance your skills let it be technical or cultural. Here you can also play sports of your choice like basketball, football, badminton, cricket, lawn tennis, table tennis etc

Hostel Facilities

Rooms are okay, but the biggest deal breaker for me is the washroom, you always think you cannot hit bottom but still find yourself digging deeper. In first year you will have internet access in every room, in serving year you'll have to go to reading room for internet

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

I got this college thorough JEE, and then JOSSA, so It required a lot of documents, however the physical verification phase was much more tense as it required you being physically available there and also management issues were there

Infrastructure and quality of education and supportive professor for building our success career
Very supportive atmosphere for growth in any engineer branch

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college
Faculty is polite and very helpful and kind

Dislikes

Very less internship and placement option
Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

Placement Experience:

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment.
